| The Fourth Plenary Session of the 18 th Central Committee of the CPC pointed out that the overall goal of comprehensively promoting the rule of law is "to build a socialist rule of law system with Chinese characteristics and a socialist rule of law state".Young people are the successors of socialism,and their awareness of the rule of law determines the extent to which the strategy of following the rule of law can be achieved.How to effectively carry out rule of law education in basic education schools and improve the rule of law literacy and the spirit of rule of law among young students has become a matter of urgency.High school Civics classes are the main venue for rule of law education for high school students,and play an important role in cultivating their awareness of the rule of law.In recent years,the integration of Civic Studies elements into course teaching has achieved remarkable results in improving teaching quality,raising students’ ideological awareness and strengthening their sense of professional responsibility.Integrating rule of law education into Korakan’s Civic Studies classes is conducive to better raising students’ awareness of the law and self-protection,further broadening their legal horizons,cultivating their legal awareness and improving their ability to consciously apply laws and regulations to regulate their own behaviour.At the same time,it is conducive to strengthening the construction of the rule of law culture on campus,creating a strong learning atmosphere and cultivating students’ independent learning ability,and it is also the way to build a rule of law China and achieve a strong state under the rule of law.Therefore,it is important to study the rule of law education in high school Civics and Political Science classes.In this paper,through a questionnaire survey of the rule of law education in the Civics and Political Science classes of four ordinary high schools in Guizhou Province and the statistics and analysis of their data,we learn that at present,high school students have a certain legal foundation,the awareness of rule of law education among teachers of ideology and politics classes has been further enhanced,and the cultivation of rule of law awareness has become an important part of the teaching of high school Civics and Political Science classes and other current situation and achievements.However,due to the relatively short period of time that the teaching of rule of law education has been carried out in secondary school Civics and Political Science classes,there are still certain shortcomings in the practical teaching.In this paper,we analyse the reasons for the inadequacy of the school system,the need to improve teachers’ own legal literacy,and the weakness of students’ knowledge of the rule of law and their irregular behaviour.On this basis,the reasons for the existing problems are discussed from the perspective of society,schools,teachers and students:the "secondary subject theory" still exists in society,the educational environment in schools is relatively closed and the assessment methods are lagging behind,teachers’ lack of education on the rule of law,and the constraints of students’ own psychological characteristics.Although these problems have attracted widespread attention,and many scholars and curriculum experts have analysed and discussed these problems,they still exist.In the last part of this paper,several effective paths are provided for the rule of law education in high school Civics and Politics classes at the levels of society,schools,teaching materials and teachers respectively,mainly including: creating a good social environment for the rule of law,improving the construction of the rule of law on campus,upgrading teachers’ rule of law literacy and raising students’ awareness of the rule of law.It can not only supplement the path of high school political education,but also help to realize the effectiveness of ideological and political education and achieve a good educational effect. |
