Along with elementary education curriculum reform advance, teaching material not only in the main text content as well as it way of presents have the change, also teaching material's exercise on the New Curriculum Standard to make the corresponding innovation. The Full-time Nine Year Compulsory education Chemistry Curriculum Standard (trial version)" pointed out that "the exercise type must be ?diverse, should increase the opening topic and the practice topic proportion". The practice topic's introduction, is one of new teaching material's characteristics, but for the practice topic's limit, the implementation condition also waits for studying, for this reason, the present paper takes October, 2006 second edition of nine year compulsory education experiment chemistry textbook as example, has conducted the preliminary research about the practice topic in the junior middle school chemistry teaching material.The paper has discussed the practice topic concept limits and the classification, and makes the text analysis and the operational analysis, carries on the questionnaire survey and the case observation in order to know about the utilization and the implementation situation, and put forward the related proposal in the above research's foundation.The author thought that the practice topic needs students consult material, design project, do experiment, take investigation and so on practical duties, or give explanation or draw the conclusion. With the open exercise, the inquisition exercise, the elaboration exercise, the exchange class exercise, they have certain difference and contacting. According to the practical duty's difference, the practice topic may divide into the experiment class practice topic, the investigation and study class practice topic.Based on the author's the practice topic's concept and the classification proposed, the author analyzed the distribution of practice topic in junior middle school chemistry teaching material, and the content and the active way. The research discovered that in teaching material's practice topic mainly distributes after the class practices, the family experiment as well as in the investigation and study column, and appears mainly in the units which content relate closely with life and production. Its content selection involves the daily life, the industry and agriculture production, the environmental protection question, the healthy question, the discipline skill and so on.The paper practice part is composed by two parts, practices the topic, research the practice topic implementation situation and the case study. The research discovered that the practice topic through integrates chemistry knowledge to student's life, the understanding related social phenomenon and in the solution concrete society question, has advantageous in stimulating student's social responsibilities, enhance chemistry study enthusiasm and initiative. But minority of experiment practice topic's material is not easy to gain, partial phenomenon are not obvious. Majority of practice topic witch need students consult material, students can complete them independently, but the investigation class practice topic is difficult, does not suit the students to do after class.According to the above research, the paper put forward the proposal on the compilation of practice topic and teacher's use, thought when compile practice topic must achieve as far as possible: the operation difficulty suitable, the experiment material easy to gain; When the teacher uses the practice topic, must choose reasonably, be good at using and the development teaching resources, completing the instruction which the student practices, to process in practice between teacher leading and the student independent relations and appraise student's practice achievement punctually.
