A Practical Study On Social Work Intervention In Rural Elderly Community Care

At present,China’s population aging is deepening,and the aging degree of rural communities is far higher than that of the whole country.The aging phenomenon of rural population is particularly noteworthy.Due to the lack of children’s care and companionship,the lack of elderly care service facilities in rural areas,and the influence of traditional concepts,the elderly are unwilling to leave their familiar communities,which has led to a sharp increase in the number of elderly living alone in rural areas.How to better solve their elderly care problems has become the focus of national and social attention.As a new social work practice theory and work mode,community care emphasizes that the service object should be left in the community to care for,and the mutual assistance between community residents can be achieved by integrating resources and establishing social support network,which has strong applicability for alleviating the elderly care problems in rural areas of China.Therefore,this paper studies community care services in rural areas from the perspective of social work,through understanding the elderly care problems in the community,linking formal and informal resources inside and outside the community to meet their community care needs,and cultivating the awareness and ability of community residents to participate in community elderly care affairs,so as to improve the quality of life of the elderly in the community in their later years.This paper takes Y village of Anning City as an example to introduce community care services into the elderly care life of rural communities.Based on the social support theory,this paper analyzes the current situation,problems and causes of the elderly in village Y through questionnaires and participatory observation,and then analyzes the community care needs of the elderly in village Y,and then integrates community resources for the elderly by using the methods of group work and community work according to the special needs of the elderly in the community,Help the elderly in the community to establish a mutual social support network to meet their community care needs.The elderly in village Y are mainly faced with the dilemma of providing for the aged in three aspects: chronic diseases,limited cultural and recreational activities and lack of emotional support.They have three levels of needs in community care services: medical care,cultural entertainment and spiritual comfort.In terms of medical care needs,it is mainly the popularization of health knowledge and the improvement of self-health management ability;In terms of cultural entertainment,it is mainly the provision of space for cultural entertainment activities and the development of various forms of community activities;In terms of spiritual consolation,it is mainly the construction of a group activity platform.On this basis,this paper uses two professional methods of group work and community work to carry out a variety of community activities to try to intervene in the problems existing in the elderly care in Y village.Through the establishment of mutual assistance network between the elderly,the establishment of a group activity platform and the cultivation of community volunteers,the spirit of self-help and mutual assistance of the elderly in the community has been cultivated,and the awareness and ability of community residents to participate in community elderly care affairs have been improved,So as to better improve the quality of life of the elderly in the community.The study found that the intervention of social work can provide help and support for the community care services for the rural elderly,and the implementation of group work and community work has achieved good service results.On the one hand,the implementation of services has improved the health awareness of the elderly in the community,enriched their cultural and recreational life,and the elderly have received spiritual care and support through the participation of activities.On the other hand,the implementation of the service has also expanded the social support network of the elderly in village Y,improved the ability of the elderly in the community to use resources to solve problems,and improved the enthusiasm of the community residents to participate in the community service for the elderly.According to the practical process of social work intervention in rural elderly community care services,this paper combs and summarizes the reflection of this service,and finally puts forward suggestions on social work intervention in rural elderly community care services from three levels of government,community and social work to promote the practice and development of rural community care services.
