Children with disabilities are the most promising category of the disability group and should receive more social attention.Children with disabilities will face more difficulties in daily learning and life than ordinary children because of their physical or psychological development and crippling conditions,and children with disabilities generally have a strong inferiority complex;they cannot accept themselves and tend to close themselves off,which is not only detrimental to the healthy psychological development of children with disabilities,but also has a great negative impact on their personality perfection and social interactions.For children with disabilities,low parental knowledge and culture,high family financial pressure,and physical impairment may lead to many obstacles in the process of social interaction,which are difficult to be solved only by children with disabilities and their families themselves.This paper aims to help children with disabilities solve their social interaction difficulties and achieve normal social interaction by establishing a social support network for children with disabilities.In this study,Xiao Yu,a school-age child with physical disabilities,was selected as the subject of the study.Using the case work method,we visited the client’s family and community to understand the basic information of the client,analyzed his current problems,applied the social support network theory,provided instrumental and expressive support,helped the client build self-confidence,created social interaction opportunities,assisted the client to master The first part of the article focuses on the selection of the topic.The first part of the article discusses the background of the selected topic,the significance of the study,the current status of domestic and international research,and the research method;the second part of the article defines the concepts of children with disabilities,social interaction,and social support network theory.The third part is the design of the service program,including the introduction of the clients,the establishment of professional relationship,the problems of the clients and the analysis of the available resources.The fourth part is about the implementation process of the casework,which provides instrumental as well as expressive support to the clients through peer group support groups and other school and community activities to help the clients improve their low self-esteem,establish an inclusive social environment,and assist the clients to improve their social interaction skills.The fifth section contains the conclusion and discussion of this study,including the conclusion,findings,and reflections of the study.A comparison of the data measured using the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Inventory before and after the beginning of this study revealed that the clients showed significant changes and began to accept themselves and to actively communicate with others.Overall,the use of social support network theory for case intervention of social interaction difficulties of children with disabilities was effective. |
