| Research objective: The study aims to explore the effect of cluster group training with rest redistribution(RR)on lower limb explosive power of healthy college students, compared with traditional resistance training(TS).RR is a new training method that reduces inter-group rest intervals and redistributes the remaining time into intra-group rest intervals, thus alleviating the fatigue caused by continuous repetition during training, improving movement quality and functional ability, and positively promoting the development of muscle explosive power. This study provides new ideas for developing training methods for explosive power.Methodology: The study used literature review, experimental methods, mathematical statistics, and recruited 20 male students majoring in physical training from Wuhan Sports University as subjects. The subjects were randomly divided into two groups: the experimental group(n=10)performed cluster group squats with rest redistribution, using 85% 1RM load, for 4 sets, each set repeated 3 times, with 30 seconds intra-group rest and 120 seconds inter-group rest. The control group(n=10)performed traditional squats, using 85% 1RM load, for 4 sets, each set repeated 3 times, with 180 seconds inter-group rest. The field indicators(1RM,standing long jump, vertical jump,30-meter sprint,T-agility)and kinematic indicators(impulse, takeoff velocity, relative power)reflecting explosive power were collected before and after 6 weeks of intervention. The collected test data were statistically analyzed using SPSS 25.0.Results:(1)After 6 weeks of training, both RR and TS showed significant improvement in deep squat maximum strength(1RM)compared to pre-intervention(P=0.00),but there was no significant difference in deep squat 1RM between the two groups(P>0.05)(2)Subjective fatigue RPE values of both RR and TS were significantly lower after intervention training than before intervention training,RR(P<0.01),CS(P<0.05)(3)Both RR and CS significantly improved the performance of vertical jump touch height, standing long jump,30 m sprint and T-sensitivity after intervention training(P<0.05),and the performance of vertical jump touch height, standing long jump and 30 m sprint of RR was significantly improved than that of CS after intervention training, but there was no significant difference in the performance of T-sensitivity between the two groups. There was no significant difference in the improvement of T-sensitivity between the two groups.(4)The kinetic indexes(impulse, takeoff velocity, relative power)of RR and CS improved significantly after the intervention training(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference in the kinetic indexes between the two groups.Conclusion:(1)Cluster group squats with rest redistribution have a positive effect on the development of explosive power and can be used as an effective training method for lower limb explosive power in male college students.(2)Cluster group squats with rest redistribution can effectively improve lower limb maximum strength while reducing fatigue, which is equivalent to traditional squats.(3)After 6 weeks of intervention, there was no significant difference between cluster group squats with rest redistribution and traditional squats in terms of CMJ kinematics. |
