In 2022,the Ministry of Education has proposed an action plan for the reform and development of school sports and the integration of sports and education,and will continue to implement the "double reduction" policy as a priority.As provinces and municipalities across the country have introduced policies related to physical education in secondary school exams,the status of physical education in school education has risen sharply,and the integration of physical education,the "double reduction" policy and the reform of physical education secondary school exams have enabled China to better move towards a strong sports nation.However,it takes some time for the policy to be fully implemented at the local level,and the increase in the value of physical education secondary examinations has led to the phenomenon of exam-oriented quality subjects in some places,which has brought serious challenges to physical education,and more and more people are becoming aware of the important role that physical education teachers play in the daily physical education curriculum,which has a great impact on the physical development of students.However,with the continuous development of social education in China,the degree of importance and understanding of physical education from all walks of life has not increased significantly,and the pressure from society,schools,families and other levels has constantly struck the motivation of physical education teachers,causing their burnout,and even prompting many of them to gradually give up education and leave the profession they once loved and fought for,which has a serious negative impact on the long-term development of physical education in schools,and the widespread phenomenon of teaching burnout among physical education teachers has become a hot topic of concern at the current stage.This study takes the burnout phenomenon of physical education subject teachers in junior high school in Qinhuangdao City as the main body of research,mainly adopts various research methods such as literature method,questionnaire survey method,interview method and logical analysis method,analyzes the burnout phenomenon of physical education subject teachers at the compulsory education junior high school level in Qinhuangdao City from different angles and levels,explores the main causes and influencing factors that cause this phenomenon to appear,and further put forward scientific and effective solutions and suggested measures to lay an important theoretical foundation for the professional development of physical education subjects at the junior high school level of compulsory education in Qinhuangdao City,and to alleviate the psychological barriers and burnout problems of physical education subject teachers at the junior high school level in Qinhuangdao City as much as possible.The following conclusions were obtained from the analysis of specific data:(1)Middle school physical education teachers in Qinhuangdao City have a slight burnout condition,but the problem is more prominent in the emotional exhaustion dimension.(2)From the focus of burnout exhibited by junior high school physical education teachers in Qinhuangdao City,the common problem is a high degree of emotional exhaustion,while the depersonalization and low achievement dimensions are not serious,so it can be concluded that emotional exhaustion is a core indicator of burnout among junior high school physical education teachers in Qinhuangdao City,and emotional exhaustion can lead to depersonalization and further exacerbate low achievement.(3)Burnout among junior high school physical education teachers in Qinhuangdao City with different demographic characteristics showed significant group variability,but no significant differences in gender and educational characteristics.(4)Junior high school physical education teachers in Huangdao City tended to be younger;junior high school physical education teachers in private schools were more prone to burnout than those in public schools;burnout was more serious among divorced junior high school physical education teachers in Qinhuangdao City,and unmarried physical education teachers were more prone to burnout than married physical education teachers.(5)The causes of burnout among junior high school physical education teachers in Qinhuangdao City are social,school,professional,family,and personal causes in five areas.These include: the pay is not proportional to the reward,the relatively low salary of teachers in Qinhuangdao City,Qinhuangdao City is a tourist city with high consumption,the lack of physical education teaching facilities,the pressure from physical education secondary school examinations,the extra work of physical education teachers in addition to teaching,and the different level of respect that physical education teachers receive from teachers of other subjects.(6)The main influencing factors of burnout among junior high school PE teachers in Qinhuangdao City come from the following five aspects: social,school,professional,family,and personal factors.These five factors interact with each other and eventually break through the critical value of burnout and the three dimensions of junior high school physical education teachers in Qinhuangdao City,and eventually present themselves in different forms of expression in the three dimensions.Based on the above conclusions,it is recommended that society should strengthen government policy support;schools should respect teachers’ reasonable needs;leaders with decision-making power within schools need to analyze and investigate various problems that arise during the development of campus construction and further develop effective solutions and measures;local education departments as well as schools themselves should pay attention to the development of physical education teachers’ mental health and guide physical education teachers to actively participate in theoretical knowledge learning activities;in addition,physical education teachers need to fundamentally strengthen the adjustment and intervention of their own burnout and address and mitigate its effects through positive and healthy ways.
