| With the continuous deepening of the new curriculum reform,developing students’ core academic literacy has become the main teaching goal.As a main tool for studying the laws of life activities,biological mathematical models can effectively promote the development of core academic literacy.Therefore,front-line biology teachers should attach great importance to the application of biological mathematical models in teaching.This study mainly includes four parts: First,investigate the high school students’ biological mathematical model literacy,understand the development level of high school students’ biological mathematical model literacy,analyze the main reasons,and propose corresponding solutions.Secondly,investigate the implementation status of mathematical model teaching in senior high school biology,analyze the existing problems in mathematical model teaching,and propose corresponding improvement measures.Thirdly,compare and analyze the teaching materials of biological mathematical models in the 2019 edition of the compulsory modules of the People’s Education Edition,Jiangsu Education Edition,and Beijing Normal University Edition,and explore the implicit biological mathematical models in the textbooks.Fourth,construct a biological mathematical model teaching design case based on core literacy to provide reference for front-line teachers.The research conclusions are as follows:(1)High school students’ mathematical model literacy in biology is at a medium level.Specifically,students’ cognitive level of mathematical models in biology,their modeling ability in mathematical models in biology,and their modeling character in mathematical models in biology are all at a moderate level.Aiming at the development level and influencing factors of high school students’ modeling literacy,this study proposes corresponding countermeasures from the student level,teacher level,school level,and family level.(2)The current situation of the implementation of mathematical model teaching in high school biology is not optimistic.The main problems are:(1)teachers’ vague cognition of biological mathematical models;(2)The awareness of developing core literacy based on biological mathematical models is weak;(3)Insufficient theoretical knowledge reserve in biological mathematical model teaching;(4)The teaching resources of biological mathematical models are relatively lacking;(5)The teaching evaluation system of mathematical models in biology is not perfect.In response to the above issues,this study proposes corresponding suggestions and improvement measures for teachers,schools,and education departments.(3)Mathematical models in senior high school biology textbooks have educational functions of cultivating scientific thinking,developing core literacy in biology,promoting knowledge systematization,and promoting interdisciplinary application.The number,type,and distribution of biological mathematical models in the required modules of different versions of textbooks are different.Mining more than 60 implicit biological mathematical models in the required module content.(4)Guided by the development of students’ core biological literacy,in accordance with the academic requirements and teaching suggestions proposed in the new curriculum standards,and based on the student-centered teaching principles,we have respectively constructed biological mathematical model teaching cases that focus on life concepts,scientific thinking,scientific inquiry,and social responsibility,enriching biological mathematical model teaching resources and providing reference for frontline biology teachers. |
