With the proposal of the “Healthy China” strategy and the “National Fitness Plan”,Chinese people’s awareness of fitness has been widely raised,and fitness has become a daily habit of many people.The physical health of college students plays a key role in the rejuvenation of the nation and the strategy of healthy China.Paying attention to college students’ fitness behavior is the proper meaning of practicing the strategy of healthy China and the national fitness plan.Contemporary college students have prominent physical health problems,poor fitness habits,their lifestyle and exercise habits are in urgent need of improvement.Under the background of “Internet+ mass sports”,new media contact of fitness information has increasingly become an important way of fitness communication,and also an important factor affecting college students’ fitness behavior.In this study,560 college students from Central China Normal University,Hubei Minzu University,Three Gorges University,Jingchu University of Science and Technology,Huanggang Normal University and Huazhong University of Science and Technology were selected as research samples by using questionnaire survey,semi-structured interview,participatory observation and data processing methods.Based on the theory of KAP,theory of planned behavior and self-efficacy theory,the new media contact and fitness behavior change model of Hubei college students’ fitness information was constructed according to the research questions and hypotheses,and the influence and mechanism of new media contact on the fitness behavior of college students in Hubei Province was systematically studied.Based on the research conclusions,targeted and feasible suggestions are provided for the dissemination of new media fitness information and college students are helped to improve their fitness behavior through new media contact.Through the research,it is found that college students in Hubei Province have rich types of new media contact to fitness information,but the frequency of exposure is unbalanced.They are mainly social platforms,fitness apps,video applications and B stations,and have low exposure to search engines and information applications.In Hubei province,the trust degree of college students’ fitness information contact is not high,and more than half of them maintain a neutral attitude towards it.The fitness behavior of college students in Hubei province is not optimistic,most of the college students’ fitness exercise is poor or only average level;New media contact to fitness information has a significant positive effect on fitness behavior of college students in Hubei province.New media contact to fitness information of college students in Hubei Province has a positive and indirect influence on fitness behavior through fitness knowledge.New media contact to fitness information of college students in Hubei Province has a positive and indirect effect on fitness behavior through fitness attitude;New media contact to fitness information of college students in Hubei Province has positive and indirect effects on fitness behavior through subjective norms;New media contact to fitness information of college students in Hubei Province has positive and indirect effects on fitness behavior through self-efficacy;The subject category of demographic variables plays a moderating role in the influence of new media contact on fitness behavior of college students in Hubei Province.
