| The education of national unity and progress in schools is an important part of the cause of national unity and progress.In recent years,the Party and our country have promulgated a series of policies and guidelines on national unity and progress education in schools,further pointing out its significance,and pushing national unity and progress education in schools to a new height in the new era.However,at present,there is still a lack of effective and diversified paths and carriers for the education of national unity and progress in schools,which leads to national unity and progress education being a mere formality with no significant effect.Therefore,this study adopts such research methods as literature research,questionnaire survey,interview and quasi-experimental research,based on the investigation of the current situation of primary school students’ student engagement in national unity and progress education,and applies project-based learning method to solve the problem of primary school students’ student engagement in national unity and progress education.Furthermore,this study constructs the project-based learning design framework and implementation process of primary national unity and progress education,which points to the improvement of student engagement.The purpose is to provide theoretical reference and action guide for improving the level of student engagement in national unity and progress education.First of all,this study uses the literature research method to sort out and analyze the literature related to research on national unity and progress educationin primary and secondary schools,project-based learning and learning investment,then interprets the connotation and characteristics of project-based learning,as well as the connotation and structure of student engagement,and summarizes the relevant theoretical basis.Secondly,using the questionnaire survey method,based on the structure of student engagement,combined with the characteristics of national unity and progress education,compiled the primary school students’ student engagement questionnaire in national unity and progress education,through project analysis,exploratory factor analysis and reliability and validity analysis to verify its relevance and effectiveness.Primary school students in F district of Quanzhou were selected to issue questionnaires to investigate the current situation of primary school students’ student engagement in national unity and progress education.The survey results show that the overall level of primary school students’ student engagement in national unity and progress education is high,but the level of engagement in the secondary dimensions of higher-order thinking strategy,metacognitive strategy,interest,achievement,persistence and interaction is significantly lower than that of other dimensions,which provides realistic basis for subsequent research.Thirdly,though analyzing the appropriateness of project-based learning to primary school national unity and progress education and the feasibility of improving the student engagement level of primary school students in national unity and progress education,guided by constructivism learning theory,student engagement theory and self-determination theory,the design framework and implementation process of project-based learning in primary school national unity and progress education are constructed,and then analyze the key points of instructional design in the specific process.Finally,using the method of quasi-experimental research,questionnaire survey and interview,the fourth grade students of A nationality primary school in Quanzhou were taken as experimental objects.Based on the constructed project-based learning model of primary school national unity and progress education,the project-based learning case of "the third day of the third month of the lunar calendar activity planning" was designed,and its application effect was evaluated through questionnaire survey analysis,works analysis and interview analysis.The results show that the students in the experimental class using project-based learning model are significantly better than those in the control group in terms of cognitive,emotional and behavioral engagement,and the model can better achieve the goal of cultivating the consciousness of the Chinese nation community and developing core literacy.The significance of this study lies in that it innovatively puts forward the theoretical model and practical path of applying project-based learning to improve the student engagement level of primary school students in national unity and progress education,which provides theoretical guidance and practical reference for primary schools to carry out national unity and progress education. |
