| Academic procrastination is the tendency of individuals to delay learning tasks or finish learning tasks at the last minute.The more serious an individual’s academic procrastination is,it will not only affect their academic performance,but also make students have negative academic and professional emotions,which will have a certain negative impact on their mental health.Therefore,this study attempts to investigate the situation of time management and study procrastination of junior high school students through questionnaire survey,so as to explore whether time management themed education courses can improve students’ study procrastination behavior.The study is divided into two parts.The first is to investigate the time management and study procrastination of 282 junior high school students from a middle school in Yan’an City by using the "Adolescent Time Management Tendency Scale" and the "Academic Procrastination Questionnaire".The second is to explore the relationship between the two through correlation analysis and regression analysis,so as to verify the predictive effect of time management tendency on academic procrastination.Study 2 is the intervention part of time management themed education curriculum.According to the results of Study 1,two classes in grade two with no significant difference in time management inclination and academic procrastination are selected and divided into experimental group and control group.The experimental group carried out the time management theme education course during the experiment,while the control group carried out the routine mental health education course,but did not specially carry out the time management theme education course.After the implementation of intervention,the intervention effect of the time management theme education course on the academic procrastination of junior high school students was analyzed.Finally,specific education suggestions are put forward according to the research results.The main conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)Junior high school students have higher overall level of time management.In terms of gender variables,girls perform better than boys in time management;Students who are class leaders perform better than those who are not class leaders.There was no significant difference in time management between only child and grade variables.(2)Middle school students are generally in the middle level of academic procrastination.Boys procrastinate more than girls;The students in Grade two of junior high school procrastinate more seriously than the students in grade one,and then the students in grade three.There was no significant difference in the only child and whether they were class leaders.(3)The time management of junior high school students has a significant negative correlation with academic procrastination.(4)After the intervention of the time management course,the procrastination level of the students in the experimental group showed a decreasing trend.It is proved that the implementation of mental health curriculum with the theme of time management is effective and can reduce the level of students’ academic procrastination. |
