| Extracurricular activities in mathematics are one of the focuses of teaching reform, and it is a breakthrough in teaching innovation in junior high schools in the future, and has become a hot topic in the education circles.Several parts of the Mathematics Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022 Edition)emphasize and explain the teaching and learning of mathematics extracurricular activities, requiring the learning process to reflect "comprehensive and practical",emphasizing "basic activity experience necessary for learning",and promoting the growth of students’ practical ability and application awareness.Taking the introduction of the Double Reduction Policy as the research background, this paper investigates the current situation and impact of extracurricular activities in mathematics from the perspective of mathematics teaching. The results showed that students’ preference and cognition of mathematics extracurricular activities had gender differences, that is,boys liked mathematics extracurricular activities more than girls, and the reasons for boys to participate in mathematics extracurricular activities were more subjective. The implementation of the Double Reduction Policy provides sufficient time for the development of mathematics extracurricular activities, but because the curriculum standards and textbooks have not been significantly changed in response to the Double Reduction Policy, the implementation of mathematics extracurricular activities still has objective difficulties and obstacles.Based on data statistical analysis technology, this paper tests the model hypothesis of mathematics extracurricular activities, mathematical interest and mathematics learning, and explores the effect of parental and teacher attitudes on students’ intention to participate in mathematics extracurricular activities. The data analysis results show that mathematics extracurricular activities show significant positive effects in increasing mathematical interest and improving mathematics academic performance, but the Mathematics Competition and frequency characteristics of extracurricular activities in mathematics have no significant positive effect on mathematical interest and mathematics learning. In addition, the openness of parents and teachers has a significant positive effect on students’ intention to participate in extracurricular activities in mathematics.Although the data analysis results verify the model hypothesis,in reality, schools do not continue to carry out mathematics extracurricular activities, and students who are interested in mathematics extracurricular activities do not have information and channels to participate in mathematics extracurricular activities.Based on the above research conclusions, this paper puts forward suggestions and strategies for the development of mathematics extracurricular activities in the future,in order to promote the effective reform of mathematics teaching,so as to realize the innovation and practice of mathematics teaching. |
