Since the second half of the 20 th century,especially after the new century,with the mutual penetration and integration of science,technology,and society,social issues have developed in a huge scale,and the difficulty of governance has greatly increased.Traditional disciplines are difficult to meet complex practical needs,and interdisciplinary research has gradually become a new research paradigm.Similarly,interdisciplinary research and cooperation between university teachers plays a crucial role in promoting academic development in universities.Therefore,research on interdisciplinary cooperation among university teachers under the theory of organizational support is theoretically and realistically necessary for improving the quality of teaching and research,and promoting the professional development of university teachers.Based on a deep understanding of the internal logic of knowledge development and evolution,as well as the external logic of social development’s new requirements for knowledge,this study focuses on exploring the current situation and influencing factors of interdisciplinary cooperation among university teachers using organizational support theory as a starting point.This study uses a literature analysis method to analyze the current situation and trends of interdisciplinary cooperation among university teachers both at home and abroad by combing relevant literature on university teachers’ willingness to cooperate across disciplines and influencing factors,and systematically elaborates on the difficulties faced by university teachers’ interdisciplinary cooperation.In the main part of the study,a combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods was used.Based on the theory of organizational support,a questionnaire was designed from three dimensions: institutional support,instrumental support,and emotional support.By analyzing the data collected from the questionnaire,the overall level of university teachers’ willingness to cooperate across disciplines and the significant differences among various factors were understood,Regression statistical analysis was conducted on the influencing factors of university teachers’ willingness to cooperate across disciplines.Qualitative research aims to tease out the factors affecting interdisciplinary cooperation among university teachers,comprehensively compare the results with quantitative research,and provide in-depth explanations for the deeper laws behind interdisciplinary cooperation through qualitative research.The interpretive understanding of qualitative research compensates for the shortcomings of quantitative research that is rigorous and objective,but lacks measurement of the feelings and values of the observed.Quantitative research results generate general trends and relationships,while qualitative research provides in-depth personal perspectives.Through research,it is found that institutional support,instrumental support,and emotional support all have an impact on university teachers’ willingness to cooperate across disciplines.Therefore,in response to the problems encountered in the investigation and research,such as the insufficient atmosphere of scientific research cooperation in universities,unreasonable allocation of scientific research resources,insufficient career development potential,difficulties in evaluating interdisciplinary achievements,and limited research autonomy,targeted improvement suggestions are proposed: create a free and democratic atmosphere of interdisciplinary cooperation,establish and improve the interdisciplinary cooperation system;Provide stable and sufficient funding support to strengthen teacher interdisciplinary career development;Establish an assessment mechanism for university teachers based on the law of competence,and rationally divide the contribution rate of interdisciplinary cooperation achievements;Ensure the autonomy of teachers participating in interdisciplinary cooperation in the management,use,and distribution of topics,as well as the decision-making power of their own research content and technical routes.
