The new high school geography curriculum standard expounds the nature and basic concept of geography curriculum,clarifies the necessary subject literacy,subject character and key ability,and puts forward the four core qualities of geography,which points out the direction for the development of geography education in China.Core literacy is the ’ core keyword ’ in the field of medium and long-term basic education in China,and it has become the baton to guide basic education curriculum,teaching materials,teaching and evaluation.Geography has both natural and humanistic attributes and has strong practicality,which provides a basis for geography teaching to carry out geography experiments.Geography experiment is an important way of geography practice,an important way to achieve effective teaching,and an important means to implement the core literacy of geography.In high school geography teaching,carrying out geography experiments is an effective way to cultivate students ’ geographical core literacy.By reading a lot of literature,this paper investigates the current situation of geography experiment teaching in X senior high school in Xingyi city by means of questionnaire survey and interview on the basis of combing the research status of geography experiment and geography core literacy at home and abroad.The survey shows that students and teachers have a certain understanding of geographical experiments and geographical core literacy.At the same time,they have the basis for carrying out geographical experiments and have a high interest in carrying out geographical experiments.However,due to the shortage of class hours,the lack of a special geography laboratory,the lack of experimental cases to refer to,and the limited ability of teachers to design experiments,there are few geographical experiments.Based on this,taking natural geography as an example,this paper explores the content and classification of geography experiments that can be carried out in textbooks,and condenses the design principles and methods.The basic principles of experimental design are as follows : scientific principle,innovative principle,comprehensive principle,feasibility principle,educational principle,subjectivity principle,safety principle and pertinence principle.The basic methods of experimental design are :learning situation oriented method,goal oriented method,content oriented method,literacy oriented method,examination oriented method.According to the principles and methods to guide the design of experimental cases,and select some used in practical teaching.The empirical research shows that carrying out experiments in geography teaching is conducive to the transformation of learning methods,stimulating students ’ interest in geography,mobilizing students ’enthusiasm,improving students ’ geography scores,and improving geography skills.It is an important means to implement the core literacy of geography.
