| With the implementation of the new curriculum standard,mathematical modeling in junior middle school mathematics textbooks and courses has become more important.Under the requirements of the new curriculum standards,cultivating students’ core literacy has become a key point in mathematics teaching.In order to improve the core quality of mathematical modeling,promote the sustainable development of students’ mathematical learning,and achieve the integrated cultivation of junior and senior high school mathematical learning for ninth grade students,it is necessary to understand mathematical modeling ability of the ninth grade students in the field of number and algebra,whether there are gender differences,and the difficulties in mathematical modeling learning.The research of mathematical modeling ability in the field of mathematics and algebra is helpful to adjust the test preparation plan of ninth grade students.It helps students find suitable learning measures and find out the growth point to improve their scores.It is conducive for teachers to do well in the integrated cultivation of junior and senior high school mathematical learning.Besides,it contributes to realize the all-round and lifelong development of students.Therefore,it is very important and meaningful to strengthen students’ mathematical modeling ability in the field of mathematics and algebra.Based on the six-level model of mathematical modeling ability of Xu Binyan and SOLO classification evaluation theory,this research developed a three-level and six-level evaluation model.Taking the ninth grade students of a middle school as the research subjects.The teaching experiment was conducted on the ninth grade students from the aspects of equation(group)model,inequality model and function model in the field of number and algebra.The data were analyzed by SPSSPRO,the following conclusions were drawn based on the data and interview content.The results suggest that:1.Grade 9 students have a high level of mathematical modeling ability in the field of mathematics and algebra,with 71.6% of students reaching the level of 3 or above.The proportion of students at the evaluation and expansion level reached25.98%.2.Students have a good grasp of equations(group),inequality model and function model.Students’ modeling ability is generally poor,and the mathematical ability of the inequality model and the function model is poor.3.There is no obvious difference in gender between students’ mathematical modeling ability in the field of number and algebra.There is no obvious difference between equation(group)model,inequality model,function model and mathematical modeling ability of boys and girls.Based on the above research conclusions,the author makes the following suggestions:1.Strengthen the cultivation of mathematical ability.Use the real situation in practical learning guide students to understand the situation,find the clues in the situation,establish the clues in the question circumstance,and conduct the systematic cultivation of modeling ability.2.Strengthen the cultivation of modeling ability.Teachers should strengthen,students’ writing standard of calculation process,and use all kinds of activities to cultivate students’ interest in calculation.Students should improve the model attitude,optimize the calculation process,improve the calculation will.3.Strengthen the cultivation of confidence in inequality model and function model modeling.Teachers should pay attention to the guidance of the learning procedures,process evaluation,demonstration and guidance,and establish students’ personal learning files of mathematical modeling.Students should improve their learning motivation,find a advantage of recording their personal modeling learning,and actively cooperate with others. |
