| In recent years,the growth of the global gaming industry has led to the prosperity of related industries,but societal and market demands for games are no longer limited to entertainment and competition.Serious games have broad application scenarios,and currently,there are fewer related applications and systematic studies in China,which is an important trend in industrial transformation.With the enrichment and improvement of modern education and teaching content,as well as the growth of open resources brought by the development of the internet,people are increasingly exposed to more specialized and complex knowledge.Constructivist theory is an effective guiding theory for addressing issues such as knowledge complexity and fragmentation.Based on the above background,the author believes that serious games have a clear goal orientation and are high-quality carriers for educational practice,while constructivist theory can provide powerful theoretical support for game design.This article aims to explore the overall design strategy of educational serious games to improve their educational effectiveness and user experience.Firstly,this article provides an overview of constructivist theory and the research status of educational serious games,defines the concepts of constructivism,serious games,and educational serious games,and explores the advantages of applying constructivist theory to serious game design.Next,this article constructs a learner-centered overall model of educational serious games,including the learner’s learning process based on constructivist theory and the game product design hierarchy based on user experience.It also discusses how constructivist core viewpoints applicable to educational games can be used in the game production process.Further,it summarizes the production process framework of educational serious games and conducts case analysis from three perspectives: planning,interaction,and visuals,resulting in design strategies that have practical guidance significance.Finally,this article introduces the design and creation of " The Arcadian Legend of East Hills ",a historical and cultural knowledge popularization game based on the above model and framework.Players play as the protagonist who mistakenly enters a wonderland while searching for a way to return and surviving with the guidance of villagers.Players can freely explore and interact in the wonderland,understand the past and present of this land,and change the course of the story.Compared with various primary knowledge education games in museums or online platforms in China,this game has a high sense of immersion,self-realization,and player engagement.The game’s diverse gameplay,scientific processes,realistic operations,and rich details help players effectively internalize knowledge.This game is an attempt to popularize the cultural heritage of the Hakka people in southwestern Fujian and also provides some reference value for the design of similar educational serious games. |
