| Adolescent suicide is a major public health problem facing the whole world.Suicide has become the second biggest cause of death for teenagers only after traffic accidents in our country.Suicidal ideation is one of the strongest factors to predict individual suicidal behavior.With the increase of the frequency of suicidal ideation,the possibility of suicide will increase.Therefore,the study of suicidal ideation is conducive to reducing the occurrence of suicidal behavior.This study will focus on examining the relationship between negative life events,sense of significance of life and suicidal ideation,and verify the mediating role of sense of significance of life.On this basis,a set of group counseling program is designed to improve the sense of significance of life of high school students,and then the effectiveness of this program in reducing the level of suicidal ideation is investigated.This study is divided into two parts.In the first part,830 high school students in Huangshi were surveyed by questionnaires,using the Adolescent Life Events Scale(ASLEC),the Sense of Life Significance Scale(MLQ),and the Self-rating Suicide Ideation Scale(SIOSS),to figure out the current situation of negative life events,sense of life significance,and suicidal ideation among high school students and then explore the relationship among the three and verify the mediating role of the sense of life significance.According to the results of part 1,24 students with high scores of negative life events,low scores of sense of life significance,and suicidal ideation were selected as subjects in part 2 in accordance with the voluntary principle.They were randomly assigned to the experimental group(12 students)and the control group(12 students).The experimental group received group counseling intervention of sense of life significance for 6 consecutive weeks,while the control group did not receive any intervention.After the intervention,a post-test was conducted for the two groups respectively.Data analysis was used to evaluate whether the group counseling intervention had a significant effect.A post-test was also conducted two weeks after the intervention to explore the delayed effect of the group counseling intervention on the sense of life significance.The study reached the following conclusions:(1)The average score of suicidal ideation of high school students was 6.14±4.28,which was at a low level,and the detection rate of suicidal ideation was 14.82%.(2)Negative life events,sense of life significance and suicidal ideation were significantly correlated in high school students.(3)Sense of life significance played a mediating role between negative life events and suicidal ideation in high school students.(4)This study designed a group counseling program for sense of life significance,which could effectively improve the sense of life significance of high school students and reduce their level of suicidal ideation.This scheme not only has the immediate effect,but also has a certain delay effect.In conclusion,this study revealed the relationship between negative life events,sense of life significance and suicidal ideation,and verified the mediating role of sense of life significance in negative life events and suicidal ideation.A set of group counseling program is designed to enhance the sense of life significance of high school students and reduce the level of suicidal ideation,so as to provide effective intervention programs for educators in the future and practical basis for schools to further improve the prevention of psychological crisis. |
