Abstract/Summary:
Executive function is closely related to our lives and plays an important role in regulating individuals’ behavior and emotions.Current studies have found that exercise has a positive effect on executive function,but the intensity of exercise has the best effect on executive function is still controversial.Similarly,in studies of acute aerobic exercise,it has been found that there is a difference in the improvement effect of acute aerobic exercise between the various subfunctions of executive function,and there is no uniform explanation for this difference.Therefore,this paper explores the effects of acute aerobic exercise of different intensities on the time-course benefits of executive function from the perspective of exercise intensity and measurement time.In this paper,the experimental method is mainly adopted,and ERP related technologies are used,and the reaction time,P3 peak and incubation period are used as the evaluation indexes.Thirty-seven undergraduate students were selected as test subjects and randomly divided into low-intensity,medium-intensity and high-intensity exercise groups.The participants were subjected to 30 minutes of exercise intervention of different intensities through power bicycles,and the executive function of the participants was measured at four time points: before,immediately after exercise,half an hour after exercise,and one hour after exercise.The performance function is measured using the Flanker task,the 2-back test,and the More-odd-shift task.By analyzing the collected behavioral data and EEG data,the following results are obtained.(1)High-intensity exercise has the best effect on the improvement of inhibition function;Low-intensity exercise has the best effect on the improvement of conversion function;All three intensities of exercise have a positive improvement effect on the refresh function.(2)The improvement effect of exercise intensity on inhibition function is inversely proportional to time,and the higher the intensity,the earlier the time of occurrence.The improvement effect on the refresh function and the conversion function has nothing to do with time,and it all starts to appear immediately after the exercise.The effects of exercise on executive function can extend up to one hour after exercise.(3)High-intensity exercise can reduce the P3 peak of inhibition function;All three types of exercise can reduce the peak of refresh function and conversion function,but low-intensity exercise has the best effect on the peak improvement of conversion function.(4)Exercise prolongs the latency period of the inhibitory function,and the latency period of high intensity is the shortest in comparison.Low-intensity exercise can shorten the latency of refresh and transition functions,while medium-and high-intensity exercise increases the latency of refresh and transition functions.
