Study On Care Burden And Social Support Of Family Caregivers Of Elderly Patients With Type 2 Diabetes

In recent years,due to the increasing number of elderly people in our country,the problem of aging has become more prominent.In addition,with the improvement of the material living standards of Chinese residents,there are more and more elderly people suffering from type 2 diabetes.Type 2 diabetes has the characteristics of lifelong and more complications,so that patients with type 2 diabetes need long-term care.Therefore,family caregivers of elderly patients with type 2 diabetes need to spend more time and energy in the care process,and bear pressure from all aspects.The long-term care work has also led to the burden of care for family caregivers in all aspects.The occurrence of these phenomena is not only not conducive to improving the quality of care of family caregivers,but also not conducive to improving the quality of life of both elderly patients with type 2 diabetes and family caregivers.This research is based on the theory of social support,with family caregivers of elderly patients with type 2 diabetes as the research object.On the basis of the existing literature,through questionnaires,scales and interviews,the care burden and social support status of family caregivers with type 2 diabetes are analyzed and described,so as to fully explore the current care burden problems encountered by this group and their reasons.Finally,discuss how to improve the social support network of family caregivers to help them reduce the burden of care.The results of this study show that the total score of care burden of family caregivers of elderly patients with type 2 diabetes is negatively correlated with the total score of social support.It can be seen that the reduction of the burden of care for family caregivers can be achieved by increasing their level of social support.Through research,it is found that in the process of caring for elderly patients with type 2 diabetes,family caregivers will have a series of care burden problems in the economic,physical and psychological aspects.The reason can be roughly summarized as the lack of social support from all aspects of family caregivers.Finally,this study believes that the reduction of the care burden of the family caregivers of elderly patients with type 2 diabetes requires not only the strength of various support subjects,but also the efforts of the family caregivers themselves.
