Cultivating students’ scientific inquiry ability and enabling students to master the essence of science is an important aspect of implementing the core literacy of physics.The HPS(History,Philosophy and Sociology of Science)educational philosophy advocates integrating elements of history of science,philosophy of science and sociology of science into science courses,with the aim of enhancing students’ understanding of the nature of science and improving their scientific thinking and scientific inquiry abilities.For this reason,this study explores the integration of HPS education concept in high school physics teaching,which has positive significance for improving students’ scientific inquiry ability.The main work includes the following four parts.First,consult the literature on HPS educational philosophy and scientific inquiry ability,understand the research status at home and abroad,and identify the research purpose.Secondly,through the questionnaire survey method to understand the situation of high school students’ scientific inquiry ability,and analyze the questionnaire data to get the survey results.Third,based on the PEP(2019)senior high school physics textbook,count the occurrence frequency of the HPS educational concept and the keyword “scientific inquiry”,and analyze the correlation between the two,so as to conclude that based on the HPS educational concept,the promotion of high school students’ scientific The teaching strategy of inquiry ability shows two teaching designs of “Coulomb’s Law” and “Faraday’s Law of Electromagnetic Induction”.Fourth,after the teaching practice,the degree to which the HPS educational concept is integrated into the physics inquiry classroom is investigated through a questionnaire,which shows that the HPS educational concept is feasible to improve the scientific inquiry ability of high school students.The research found that the factors affecting the development of high school students’ scientific inquiry ability include students’ unclear purpose and process of inquiry,insufficient participation in actual inquiry,etc.The teaching practice of “Coulomb’s Law”and “Faraday’s Law of Electromagnetic Induction” is relatively ideal.After the HPS concept is infiltrated in the scientific inquiry classroom,the results of the questionnaire show that the two dimensions of the history of science and the sociology of science have a good effect,and the effect of the integration of philosophy of science remains to be seen.Enhancement,the penetration of HPS education concept is conducive to the cultivation of students’ scientific inquiry ability.Finally,the research summarizes the innovations and shortcomings,and it is expected to provide a reference for the improvement of high school physics teaching mode.
