The newly added column Happy Reading Bar in Chinese text-book for primary school is designed to better guide students to carry out extracurricular reading,stimulate students’ interest in reading and improve their reading ability.Meanwhile,teachers are required to make full of the material to promote their teaching.The paper exposes the problems which stand out at present when teachers apply the Happy Reading Bar,then try to explore some new strategies for the column.The first chapter mainly defines three concepts: the Chinese textbooks for primary school which is unified by Ministry of Education,what is Happy Reading Bar and Chinese reading teaching in primary school.In addition,the chapter analyzes the edition features and the teaching points of the column.It also expounds the questionnaire’s purpose,respondents and it’s implementation process,then the data will be sorted out and analyzed.Based on the data sorted out in the first chapter,the second chapter analyzes the problems which teachers meet while they apply “Happy Reading Bar” to their teaching.From the school’s perspective,there is a cognitive bias to “Happy Reading Bar”,which leads to insufficient attention,so there is partiality in action,and then this part of teaching is not guaranteed.For teachers,they usually don’t get well-prepared before class;they don’t gives students enough instruction in class;they also don’t follow up after class.The third chapter explores the improved strategies for "Happy Reading Bar" in Chinese Reading teaching.To promote the teaching effect of Happy Reading Bar,some measures should be taken.First of all,the school should raise the awareness of happy reading,provide the necessary guarantee;what’s more,the teachers should set the teaching objectives and plans reasonably;More Importantly,it is necessary for the teachers to design a variety of teaching modes to guide reading;Finally,it is better for teachers to improve the teaching evaluation of "Happy Reading Bar".
