Modern prose teaching is an important part of middle school language reading teaching,and the effect of prose teaching directly affects teachers’ teaching efficiency and students’ language literacy.Some teachers do not pay attention to the unique values and textual characteristics of individual prose,do not pay attention to the author’s "personalized speech object",do not grasp the real content that the author wants to express,but focus on extension and expansion."The form is scattered,but the spirit is not scattered" has always been the dogma of prose teaching methods.Nowadays,the research on prose teaching and prose teaching methods is increasing,and many scholars have conducted a comprehensive analysis of how to teach prose in terms of strategies and methods."The most important thing is what to teach.Determining the appropriate content of prose teaching can effectively solve the problem of ambiguity and arbitrariness in teaching modern prose in junior high school.From the perspective of teachers,determining the correct and appropriate teaching content can help teachers clarify the important and difficult points of teaching and help teachers bring authentic language lessons to students;from the perspective of students,it can help students establish genre awareness,increase students’ interest in learning and reading,improve students’ From the students’ perspective,it can help students establish genre awareness,increase their interest in learning and reading,improve their reading ability,and enhance their core literacy.The purpose of this study is to explore the characteristics of "text style" in modern prose textbooks through case studies,documentary analysis,and questionnaires,and to clarify the relationship between these specific content features and students’ learning.Second,through a questionnaire survey,we analyzed the problems in determining the content of modern prose teaching in junior high school textbooks and analyzed the reasons for the problems based on the results of the questionnaire survey;then,we analyzed the three principles for determining the content of prose teaching from several perspectives based on the characteristics of text style.Finally,through specific case studies,three common types of junior high school prose are explored: argumentative and philosophical prose,scenic and materialistic prose,and narrative and narrative prose,and the teaching contents are determined.
