| We shuttle through the ever-changing time, but seldom think about it.The arrangement and organization of school education time are often taken for granted,as time is everywhere yet invisible. In some educational research, school education time is also regarded as a background, but it has a tangible impact on students. To focus on reality, this study uses qualitative research methods to observe and record the practical aspects of school education time by entering the school site, and analyzes the composition of school education time based on social time typology.Through interviews, the study examines students’ views on current school education time and analyzes the effects it has on them, while taking a sociological perspective to interpret the complex relationships and hidden forces within schools as an "outsider." This study aims to raise awareness among scholars and promote more attention to this issue. The research found that under the influence of industrialized society, the value orientation of school education time has undergone a transformation, and time has become a means of discipline and pursuit of efficiency in schools. In such a time concept, the constructed school education time mechanism exhibits extreme imbalances between institutional time, interactive time, and self-time.This imbalance is not only reflected in the allocation of time but also in the differential time experience that students receive. The requirements for school order make institutional time dominant and present characteristics such as mechanization, synchronization, and utilitarianism.Due to the coerciveness and standardization of institutional time,as well as the suppression and competition for interactive time and self-time,students’ bodies become mechanized and indifferent, and even rebel and escape in order to obtain self-time.Furthermore,such limitations on school education time hinder the personalized development of students and the vitality of teaching activities. Therefore,to ensure the positive development of school education time,it is necessary to return to its natural state.Suggestions for achieving this goal include setting flexible time, reserving leisure and free time for students, and promoting the individualized development of students. |
