With the development of the marine economy and the frequent emergence of marine environmental problems,countries around the world,especially coastal countries,are paying more and more attention to marine environmental education and integrating marine environmental education into classroom teaching.Activity classes with the theme of marine environment education can enrich the teaching methods of such theme activity classes and provide teaching cases for other thematic teaching activities;By fully exploiting the value of geography activity lessons,marine environment education can be carried out more efficiently.The classroom teaching in the form of activity class meets one of the teaching forms required by the new curriculum reform,and the teaching form of activity class is more conducive to mobilizing students’ enthusiasm and improving students’ attention to marine environmental issues.Based on the human-land coordination view,humanistic learning theory,Piaget’s activity teaching theory and constructivist learning theory,this study first reviews the literature on the current situation of marine environmental education and activity class teaching and research with the help of literature research method,analyzes and summarizes the shortcomings of existing research,and proposes that marine environmental education be taught in the form of activity class teaching,and design and teaching based on this concept.Secondly,on the basis of systematically expounding the intrinsic relationship between marine environmental education and the teaching form of activity classes,a questionnaire survey on the current situation of marine environmental awareness of junior high school students and a questionnaire survey on the status of marine environmental education activity courses carried out by geography teachers in junior high school were carried out with the help of questionnaire survey method,and the results of the survey were analyzed and summarized,and the information obtained provided a realistic basis for subsequent research.Thirdly,on the basis of questionnaire survey,the teaching design of activity classes with marine environment education as the theme was carried out,teaching principles and teaching conditions were clarified,and the lesson "China’s Marine Resources" in Chapter 4 of "Chinese Geography" in the eighth grade geography volume of junior high school geography in Xiangjiao Edition was selected as a teaching case,and the teaching practice of marine environmental education activity courses was carried out under the guidance of case teaching method,and the teaching effectiveness and teaching implementation of activity classes were evaluated by using student self-evaluation scales and teacher evaluation methods,and the shortcomings of the teaching implementation of activity classes were summarized;Finally,suggestions for optimization are put forward for the shortcomings in the implementation of marine environmental education activity courses.The study found that:(1)junior high school students have a certain awareness of marine environmental protection,but they do not have enough understanding of the current situation of the marine environment,pollution causes and measures.In junior high school geography classroom teaching,there are few explanations of marine environment-related content,and teachers still follow traditional teaching concepts to design classroom teaching,and teaching materials are less likely to be carried out in the form of activity lessons.(2)From the perspective of the teaching effect of the implementation of activity classes,carrying out marine environment education in the form of activity classes significantly improves students’ understanding of marine environment information and awareness of marine environmental protection,and promotes the formation of students’ concept of human-land coordination.(3)There are some deficiencies in the teaching design and implementation of activity classes,and the following implementation suggestions are put forward for the shortcomings found in the implementation of teaching: First,strengthen teachers’ understanding of the importance of marine environment education,continuously update teachers’ educational concepts,improve teachers’ teaching design capabilities of activity classes,and improve teachers’ professional ability and literacy;The second is to consciously cultivate students’ interest in the teaching form of activity classes and improve students’ enthusiasm for participating in activity classes;Third,the familiarity with the content of teaching materials should be strengthened,and on the basis of teaching materials,the teaching design and implementation of activity classes can be better carried out.
