| To solve the “3:30 problem” on February 24,2017,the General Office of the Ministry of Education issued a document “Guidance on after-school services for primary and secondary school students”(hereinafter referred to as “Guidance”).On July 24,2021 General Office of the Communist Party of China and State Council General Office issued “Opinions on further reducing the workload of students at the compulsory education stage and the burden of off-campus training”(hereinafter referred to as “Double reduction”),after-school service has become the booster of“Double reduction”.After-school service is not only an important measure to implement “Double reduction”,but also a necessary part of constructing a high-quality education system,can also reduce the economic burden of parents and educational burden and other burdens,is the implementation of education for the People’s inevitable requirements.Taking two primary schools in s city as examples,this paper investigates the present situation of the implementation of after-school service in primary schools under the background of “Double reduction” from the following six dimensions:teachers’ and parents’ cognition and attitude to the after-school service in primary schools,the curriculum arrangement of the after-school service in primary schools,the teaching staff,the management system,the implementation effect,and the teachers’ and parents’ expectation and suggestions to the after-school service in primary schools.By using three research methods of literature,questionnaire and interview,the subjects selected by questionnaire are some teachers and parents of students in A and B primary schools in s city,interviews were conducted with primary school students,teachers,parents and after-school service administrators in s city.After analyzing the results of the investigation,we find that there are still some problems in the after-school service in primary schools under the background of“Double-reduction”: the cognitive attitude of the subject is insufficient,the curriculum is limited and restrained,the structure of after-school service teachers is single and the supervision and management system of after-school service is not perfect.The causes of the problems are as follows: the nature of after-school service is not clear,the educational resources in school are limited,the utilization rate of resources outside school is low,and the policy direction is not clear.In view of the problems existing in each dimension,this paper puts forward the following optimization strategies: guiding parents to understand the after-school service correctly,improving teachers’ initiative to participate in it;to activate the school teachers,to develop the school teachers training,to make use of the university students resources;to improve the after-school service policy,to expand the sources of service funds,to build a standardized evaluation mechanism. |
