In the 21 st century,with the gradual deepening of global informatization,information technology has been widely used,and human beings have entered the ’era of reading pictures’.In the field of education,pictures are widely used,especially in primary school Chinese classrooms,illustrations have unique educational and teaching functions.The illustrations of ancient poetry have the characteristics of paying attention to carrying forward the traditional cultural heritage,paying attention to the collocation of color and artistic conception,paying attention to highlighting the beauty of painting style and ancient rhyme,and paying attention to the agreement with the theme of ancient poetry.It has special functions in the teaching of ancient poetry.First of all,the illustrations of ancient poetry have a high degree of fit.Teachers’ reasonable use of illustrations in the teaching of ancient poetry can stimulate students’ interest in learning ancient poetry.Secondly,the illustrations of ancient poetry can deepen students’ perception of ancient poetry and help students understand the meaning of ancient poetry.Thirdly,the intuitive image of illustrations can enable students to obtain a large number of visual representations and help students recite ancient poetry;fourth,illustrations also have aesthetic appreciation value,which can bring pleasant aesthetic experience to students;finally,ancient poetry illustrations play an important auxiliary role in teachers’ teaching and are teaching resources that cannot be ignored.Due to the differences between ancient and modern cultures,ancient poetry has always been the focus of Chinese teachers’ classroom teaching and the difficulty of primary school students’ learning.The existing research shows that in the practice of primary school Chinese teaching,teachers focus more on the text of ancient poetry and ignore the use of illustrations.Therefore,how to better use the illustrations of ancient poetry in textbooks and improve the proportion of effective teaching in primary school Chinese classrooms is worth studying.In this study,questionnaires and interviews were used to investigate the use of illustrations of ancient poetry in the third stage of primary school Chinese textbooks.Teachers and students in the third stage of primary school were selected as the survey objects,and some Chinese teachers were selected as the interview objects.Through the investigation and interview of pupils’ love for illustrations of ancient poetry,teachers’ and students’ cognition of illustrations of ancient poetry,teachers’ application of illustrations of ancient poetry,and teachers’ teaching effect of using illustrations of ancient poetry,this paper analyzes and finds some problems in the application of illustrations of ancient poetry in the third section of primary school Chinese textbooks compiled by the Ministry,such as the low frequency of teachers’ application of illustrations of ancient poetry,the blindness of teachers’ application of illustrations of ancient poetry,the singularity of teachers’ application of illustrations of ancient poetry,and the lack of consciousness of students’ active application of illustrations of ancient poetry.The main reasons include that teachers’ understanding of the importance of illustrations of ancient poetry needs to be improved,teachers’ cognition of the educational function of illustrations of ancient poetry is not comprehensive enough,teachers lack systematic methods of using illustrations of ancient poetry,and students’ cognition of illustrations of ancient poetry needs to be improved.In view of the main problems and main reasons of the application of illustrations of ancient poetry in the textbooks of the third section of primary school Chinese compiled by the Ministry of Education,this paper puts forward some strategies to optimize the application of illustrations of ancient poetry in primary school Chinese by combining excellent lessons and teaching records.First of all,Chinese teachers need to change the concept of ancient poetry education and teaching,and establish the consciousness of illustration application.At the same time,to in-depth study and analysis of illustrations,and constantly improve their skills to use illustrations;secondly,when teaching ancient poetry,teachers should closely combine illustrations and reasonably apply illustrations to all aspects of teaching;finally,teachers should emphasize the combination of ancient poetry and illustrations,and guide students to use ancient poetry illustrations reasonably.
