| After the implementation of the relocation policy for poverty alleviation in Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture,Sichuan Province, the living space and environment of the relocated people have changed, and the original community has been destroyed.Aiming at problems such as unfamiliar neighborhood relations, prominent needs of vulnerable groups, and varying degrees of community alienation in the community after the relocation,by introducing the power of social work, community governance is carried out to respond to the problems existing in the community. On the basis of reshaping the community form, realize the reshaping of the spiritual home of community residents.Based on the "A Summer with Yi" relocation community governance project, the author carried out this social work service research according to the basic path of action research under the guidance of culturally sensitive perspectives. The research subjects were selected from the core members of the project team,as well as community staff and volunteers serving the governance of relocation communities, and combined with the author’s experience in participating in social work services in relocation communities, the course of social work service teams of non-local ethnic groups in carrying out community governance work in ethnic minority areas was coordinated. This study raises two research questions: first, what cultural dilemmas do non-local ethnic service providers encounter in service implementation? Second, how to deal with cultural dilemmas and promote effective governance of relocated communities? From the empirical narratives of the research subjects, this study finds that non-local ethnic service teams in ethnic areas will be limited by the differences in ethnic languages, identities and customs and habits.First of all,the communication gap caused by the language barrier is one of the main factors hindering the smooth progress of community governance actions,so the team mainly uses children to connect with other groups.Secondly, the identity dilemma encountered by the team has not been effectively solved in the short term, which also reminds the team that working in ethnic areas should improve its own cultural literacy and cultural sensitivity. Finally, differences in perception between project teams and residents of relocated communities often lead to some community governance services becoming mere formalities. Therefore, the project team should also understand the local cultural customs and social environment in the process of service,so as to better understand the living habits and actual needs of community residents and carry out effective services.Of course, this study also has certain limitations: the individual experience of the research subjects in carrying out social work services is relatively homogeneous, and if the subject-object experience of participating in the whole service process can be synthesized,it may be able to better present the complete picture of community governance, and then improve the community governance service system in ethnic areas. In addition, the action research cycle of this project is relatively short, and the follow-up sustainable investment tracks the complete process and effect of community governance. |
