The accumulation of human capital in rural areas is an indispensable factor for our social and economic development.Since the reform and opening up,with the rise of "migrant workers" in rural areas,more and more young and middle-aged laborers have gone out to work.However,due to the multiple obstacles of labor migration,such as household registration and family living cost restrictions,their children cannot move with them,resulting in a huge group of left-behind children in rural areas,which also triggered corresponding social problems.With the passage of time,the left-behind children who once had the experience of staying in rural areas gradually grew up and successfully entered the university through their own efforts,but this life experience has also become an important factor affecting their future development.Will the left-behind experience of rural registered college students have a certain impact on their accumulation of human capital such as further studies,social interaction and skill upgrading? In order to study and answer this question,this paper makes the following research and discussion.In this paper,college students with rural household registration are taken as the research object,and the questionnaire survey,statistical analysis,comparative observation and other methods are comprehensively used.According to the questionnaire results,the current situation of rural household registration college students with left-behind experience is described,and regression analysis is mainly carried out by using OLS model and probit model to discuss whether the left-behind experience will affect the human capital accumulation ability(physical health,cognitive ability and non-cognitive ability)of rural household registration college students,and whether the influence will be different due to gender differences.Through the research,it is found that: firstly,in terms of health,the left-behind experience has a significant positive impact on the average number of hospital visits per year of rural registered college students,and has a significant negative impact on the body mass index(BMI)of rural registered college students,and the health of rural registered college students with left-behind experience is worse;In terms of cognitive ability,the left-behind experience has no significant impact on the learning situation of rural registered college students,but has a significant positive impact on the IQ index of rural registered college students,and the IQ of college students with left-behind experience is higher;In terms of non-cognitive ability,the left-behind experience has a significant positive impact on the conscientiousness of rural registered college students and a significant negative impact on the openness of rural college students,indicating that rural college students with left-behind experience have a stronger sense of responsibility,but they are also more disciplined and lack of innovation.To sum up,the human capital accumulation level of rural registered college students with left-behind experience is generally lower than that of rural non-left-behind college students.Secondly,in terms of physical health,the influence of staying behind experience on the average number of hospital visits per year will be different because of gender,which shows that the influence on male college students is generally greater than that on female college students;In terms of cognitive ability,the influence of left-behind experience on academic performance and IQ index(Raven’s standard reasoning test score)will not be different because of gender;In the aspect of non-cognitive ability,the influence of left-behind experience on the personality of big five is consistent with the above.Finally,according to the research conclusion,some policy suggestions are put forward from the aspects of individuals,families,schools,society and so on.Through this study,it provides some reference for the current research on left-behind children and the accumulation of human capital in rural areas.The innovation of this paper also has certain reference significance for future research in related fields.It is necessary to build a multi-party joint force,improve the care and assistance system for rural left-behind children,provide experience reference and enlightenment for the whole society to pay attention to the long-term human capital accumulation of rural left-behind children,and accumulate reserve forces for realizing the comprehensive revitalization of rural areas.
