With the development of science and technology, economy, and medical technology in China, the average life expectancy of the population continues to extend, and the issue of aging is becoming more serious. The "Healthy China 2030" Planning Outline requires promoting healthy aging, focusing on the health issues of the elderly, and improving the health level of the elderly. However, falls are an important risk factor for injury and death in the elderly. The physiological mechanism of falls lies in the strength of the human body’s balance ability. The importance that Pilates attaches to muscle control determines its positive impact on human stability, and the quality of balance is closely related to this condition. This study used Pilates as an exercise intervention tool and the balance ability of 60-69 year olds as a dependent variable to explore the impact of Pilates exercise on the balance ability of the elderly. This research mainly adopts the methods of literature review, interview, experiment and questionnaire, follows the physiological characteristics of the elderly, pilates exercise principles and balance training principles, and designs a pilates exercise system suitable for the elderly to exercise to improve their balance ability. There are 48 elderly people aged 60-69 in Chongqing Hongshan Community Elderly Care Service Center, but 5 elderly people fell out during the experiment. The data of the remaining 43 subjects before and after the experiment were analyzed by mathematical statistics, and the following experimental results were obtained:1.Comparison between groups before and after experiment, open standing on one foot has a very significant difference(P<0.01),close your eyes to stand on one foot have obvious changes(P<0.05),"stand up,walk" timing test and the balance beam walking test with significant difference(P<0.05),the activity balance confidence have significant difference(P<0.05),among them 9 cars up and down and 13 holding the handrail to scroll up and down the elevator balance confidence rise very significantly(P<0.01),in the static and dynamic balance ability and activity balance the growth of the confidence, the experimental group is better than that of control group. The pre test results of the experimental group and the control group were tested by independent sample t test(P>0.05),and there was no significant difference.2.There was no significant difference in the results of standing with one foot,"walking on a balance beam","standing walking" timing tests, and activity balance confidence assessment in the control group before and after the experiment(P>0.05);After the experiment, the experimental group stood on one foot with eyes open and closed, walked on a balance beam, and the results of the "stand walk" timing test and activity balance confidence evaluation were significantly different from those before the experiment(P<0.01).The following conclusions:1.After 12 weeks of pilates exercise, the static balance ability and dynamic balance ability of 60-69 year old people have been improved, and the level of confidence in activity balance has increased significantly, indicating that pilates exercise can effectively improve the balance ability of the elderly, strengthen their confidence in maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and can be recommended to the elderly exercise content.2.For 60-69 year old people, pilates poses with different starting positions are used for 12 weeks, twice a week, and the heart rate is controlled at 110~130 times/minute,which has the effect of delaying the decline of balance ability of the elderly.
