The state has attached great importance to and paid close attention to the physical health of adolescents. In recent years,it has promulgated a series of policies to promote the development of youth sports.Good balance is the basis of all human movements. The development of balance ability can improve the adaptability of the body and reduce the movement compensation of the body in activities. The fourth grade pupils are in the critical period of rapid development of their balance ability.Taking reasonable and effective intervention measures will achieve twice the result with half the effort in improving their balance ability and coordinating their muscles, thereby reducing the risk of sports injury and improving their performance in sports activities. The positive impact of Pilates exercise on balance ability has been significant in adults and the elderly, but there are few studies on the application of Pilates exercise to balance ability of primary school students. So this paper combines the two, aiming to improve the balance ability of primary school students by designing Pilates exercise program, and provide theoretical basis and practical support for the development of balance ability of primary school students. In this study, the methods of literature, measurement and experiment were used. Two natural classes were randomly selected from the fourth grade of the bilingual experimental primary school in Taiyuan City as the experimental group and the control group. The two groups were tested for 12 weeks(36 class hours).Pilates exercise was used in the physical exercise part of the physical education class in the experimental group, and routine balance exercise was used in the physical exercise part of the physical education class in the control group. Before and after the experiment,a total of 6 static and dynamic balance related test indicators were collected from the subjects, and the test results were analyzed by SPSS22.0,and the following conclusions were drawn:(1)There was no significant difference between the experimental group and the control group in terms of basic physical characteristics and static and Dynamic equilibrium ability indexes(P>0.05)before the experiment, indicating that the physical characteristics and balance ability of the two groups were basically the same.(2)Compared with the subjects in the experimental group before and after the experiment, the static balance indicators of standing on one foot with eyes open, standing on one foot with eyes closed, heel lifting with eyes closed and strengthening romberg were all P<0.01,with very significant differences;the Dynamic equilibrium indicators of standing in situ with eyes closed and horizontal with vestibular steps were all P<0.01,with very significant differences.(3)Before and after the experiment, compared with the control group, the static balance indicators of standing with eyes open, standing with eyes closed, and strengthening romberg were all P less than 0.01,there was a significant difference between P less than 0.05 for standing with eyes closed and heel lifting, and there was a significant difference between P less than 0.05 for Dynamic equilibrium indicators of standing in situ with eyes closed and horizontal steps with vestibular steps.(4)After the experiment, there was a very significant difference between the experimental group and the control group in the static balance index of standing on one foot with eyes open(P<0.01).There was a significant difference in the static balance index of standing on one foot with eyes closed, standing on one foot with eyes closed, heel lifting and strengthening Romberg,as well as the Dynamic equilibrium index of standing on one foot with eyes closed and horizontal steps with vestibular steps(P<0.05).Finally,the conclusion is that 12 weeks of pilates training can effectively improve the balance ability of fourth grade pupils.Suggestion: In the design of physical education teaching, teachers should adopt an innovative and integrated approach, introducing diverse methods of physical exercise;Carry out exercises step by step based on the exercise level of primary school students;Choose targeted exercises based on the weaker parts of the student’s body;If conditions permit,it is suggested that pilates practice should be popularized and popularized in an innovative way in big break activities and community classes in combination with the double reduction policy.
