In recent years, the state has vigorously promoted the renovation of urban old communities.More and more old communities have taken on a new look after renovation, and the living environment has been significantly improved. However, after the renovation, the old community still faces the problem of how to manage it and who will manage it.Improving the quality of life of the residents of the old community should not be limited to the improvement of hardware conditions, but should also focus on how to consolidate and maintain the achievements of the renovation, and establish follow-up long-term management mechanism. Therefore, the governance of the old community after transformation has become another difficult problem in grassroots social governance. As a typical old community,Y Community in Jingzhou City has improved residents’ sense of well-being to a certain extent through the renovation project, but the follow-up governance mechanism has not kept up with it in time, resulting in prominent public environmental problems, which is representative to a certain extent. This paper takes the old community Y in Jingzhou City as the research object, based on the perspective of regional development model, collects data through questionnaire survey and interview method, and analyzes the basic situation of Y community in Jingzhou City and residents’ self-confidence by combining quantitative and qualitative methods.Management development status, expounding the difficulties faced by the community in terms of living environment, residents’ participation and residents’ selfgovernment after the transformation, using community work practice methods to intervene in the construction of Y community residents’ self-management groups, and establishing a long-term governance mechanism. The full text is divided into six chapters. The first chapter is an introduction, which introduces the research background, significance, research status at home and abroad, and research design. The second chapter describes the current situation of Y community and residents’ self-management development in Jingzhou City, which is reflected in the community profile, residents’ composition, community governance status and the service basis of residents’ selfmanagement. The third chapter expounds the project design of the construction of residents’ self-management groups in Y community, and clarifies the development goals and practical plans based on residents’ needs. The fourth chapter describes the four practical processes of the regional development model intervening in the construction of self-management groups. In the exploration stage, through the establishment of professional relationships with community neighborhood committees and resident backbones,to understand the shared community and advocate concern for the environment;in the mobilization stage, tap the resident backbone, set up a resident selfmanagement group, and improve institutional norms so as to initially solve the environmental problems faced by the community;in the consolidation stage, promote the construction of the self-management group by revitalizing community resources, determining the incentive mechanism, and cultivating public spirit to consolidate the achievements of resident self-government;in the review stage, the self-management group should operate benignly in order to determine the future development direction. The fifth chapter introduces the service evaluation of the regional development model involved in the construction of self-management groups, starting from three aspects of the service process, satisfaction and achievements of the construction of residents’ selfmanagement groups. The last chapter summarizes the conclusion of this paper, and makes a professional reflection on the shortcomings in the service process and further puts forward the prospect.
