| The General High School Chemistry Curriculum Standards(2017Edition Revised 2020)states that the teaching content and discourse system should be updated on time according to new changes in economic and social development and new achievements in science and technology,reflecting new achievements in Socialist Theories with Chinese Characteristics and Construction.Frontier knowledge of chemistry reflects new achievements,new technology,new directions,and topics in the field of chemical sciences,which are contemporary and scientific in nature.The educational function of chemistry frontier knowledge should be given full play in teaching to enrich students’ scientific knowledge,cultivating their scientific spirit,and developing their core literacy.Pocketbook,as a supplementary reading material of chemistry frontier knowledge,is knowledgeable,readable,interesting and portable.This anytime and anywhere learning style can meet students’ learning needs,which is compatible with the emphasis on students’ independent learning and active inquiry nowadays,and is conducive to students’ active learning,exploring new knowledge,stimulating students’ learning enthusiasm,and allowing them to gain rich emotional experience in the process of reading.In this study,we sorted through the chemistry frontier knowledge content in the compulsory textbooks of People’s Education Press Edition and Luke’s Edition and the chemistry test questions of all provinces and cities in China in the past three years and found that: the chemistry frontier knowledge in the compulsory textbooks of People’s Education Press Edition and Luke’s Edition appeared 26 times and 19 times respectively,and the content mainly involved frontier fields such as energy,materials,medicine,chemical industry and environment;the chemistry frontier knowledge content in the chemistry test questions of all provinces and cities in China The content appeared 10 times in 2020,14 times in 2021,and 31 times in 2022.The content involves the Nobel Prize in Chemistry and frontier fields such as electrochemistry,materials,chemical industry,catalysis and environment,among which the frontier knowledge in electrochemistry accounts for 40%,accounting for the largest proportion.It can be seen that chemistry teaching in high school is paying more and more attention to chemistry frontier knowledge,and it mainly involves the Nobel Prize in Chemistry and frontier knowledge in the fields of electrochemistry,materials,chemistry and environment.Therefore,in this study,the content of chemistry frontier knowledge suitable for students’ learning was selected from the Nobel Prize in chemistry and frontier fields of electrochemistry,materials,chemical and environment.Under the guidance of constructivist learning theory,nearest development zone theory,STSE education concept,and ubiquitous learning theory,three series of pocketbooks,"Nobel Prize in Chemistry","Frontier Knowledge in Electrochemistry" and "Frontier Knowledge in Materials,Chemical Industry and Environment",are prepared as supplementary readings of frontier knowledge in chemistry based on the principles of scientificity,interestingness,topicality and relevance,which can not only be used in They can be used not only in class but also after class for general learning in part-time.They are not limited by the limited classroom time and can reduce the burden of searching for related content after class.The prepared pocketbook was applied in high school chemistry teaching,and the questionnaire method was used to analyze the application of the chemistry frontier knowledge pocketbook to teaching,and to explore the influence on students’ interest in chemistry learning,scientific spirit,and professional choice.The interview method was used to understand the student’s feelings and gains after reading the pocketbook.From the results,it can be seen that:(1)the pocketbook is an effective form of applying chemistry frontier knowledge in teaching;(2)the application of chemistry frontier knowledge pocketbook in teaching(1)can improve students’ interest in learning chemistry.(2)It has a positive impact on motivating students to choose chemistry as their major.(3)It is conducive to student’s perception of the spirit of science.In conclusion,the application of chemistry frontier knowledge in high school chemistry teaching in the form of a pocketbook is a new form.More researchers are needed to conduct theoretical and applied research so that chemistry frontier knowledge can become a part of daily chemistry teaching and an important vehicle for improving the quality of education and teaching and the overall quality of students. |
