| Quantity sense is one of mathematics key competencies first proposed in "Curriculum Standard for Compulsory Education Mathematics(2022 Edition)".It is of great significance in mathematics learning and production life.However,in teaching practice,both teachers and students tend to neglect it.Meanwhile,due to the late start,there are still a lot of gaps in the research on quantity sense in the world,especially on the evaluation index system of quantity sense for pupils.Since primary school is a critical period for developing quantity sense,a real and objective evaluation of quantity sense is crucial.The evaluation index system of quantity sense for pupils is a system composed of multiple indexes reflecting the essential attributes of pupils’ quantity sense and their weights,which has the function of evaluating pupils’ quantity sense.Constructing it can help to diagnose the current situation of pupils’ quantity sense,help teachers adjust teaching and grasp work priorities,help to improve pupils’ quantity sense,and provide reference for the evaluation research of pupils’ quantity sense in the future,enriching the theoretical and empirical research of quantity sense.This study uses qualitative and quantitative research methods,aiming to complete the construction of evaluation index system of quantity sense for pupils.Focusing on the fourth-grade students,using varied research methods(literature research,survey research,Delphi,AHP,and statistical analysis),and drawing lessons from the construction ideas of the relatively mature evaluation index system in the field of domestic education research,this paper explores,constructs and verifies the evaluation index system of quantity sense for pupils.The research process and conclusions are as follows:(1)Clarify the operational definition of pupils’ quantity sense: be able to identify different quantities and measurement units;understand the advance rate between measurement units and be able to convert units;be able to choose the appropriate measurement unit according to the real situation;be able to grasp the relationship between the measurable attributes of things;feel the error caused by measurement tools and methods,and be able to reasonably estimate or obtain the measurement results.(2)Explore and establish the evaluation index of quantity sense for pupils.According to the preliminary evaluation index,two rounds of expert consultation were conducted,and the evaluation index system of quantity sense for pupils is finally determined after revision,including three primary indicators such as identification,comparison and estimation,and seven secondary indicators such as identification of the concept,identification of the unit,direct comparison,indirect comparison,selection of the unit,application of the method and optimization of the result.(3)Establish the weight coefficients of each index of the evaluation index system of quantity sense for pupils.Based on the AHP,this study prepares and distributes a questionnaire,and further calculates the weight coefficient of indicators at all levels.Among them,the relative weights of "identification","comparison" and "estimation" of each primary index are 0.39,0.24 and 0.37 respectively.The comprehensive weight of each secondary indicator is as follows: "identification of the concept" is 0.17,"identification of the unit" is 0.22,"direct comparison" is 0.09,"indirect comparison" is0.15,"selection of the unit" is 0.10,"application of the method" is 0.14,"optimization of the result" is 0.13.(4)Testify the operability and rationality of the evaluation index system of quantity sense for pupils.In this study," the test paper of pupils’ quantity sense " is compiled.Through the test results,it proves that the evaluation index system constructed in the research has certain operability and rationality.Meanwhile,it is found that the development of fourth-grade students’ quantity sense is relatively general,especially in the estimation of quantity.This study focuses on the construction and verification of the evaluation index system of quantity sense for pupils,and the difficulty is the development of research tools,that is,the determination of evaluation index of pupils’ quantity sense and the design of test paper.The new idea of the research is to explore the operational definition of pupils’ quantity sense,and attempt to construct the evaluation index system of quantity sense for pupils for the first time.However,in view of the tight research time,limited research capacity,the impact of the epidemic and limited research conditions,this study still has some deficiencies,which are reflected in: the method used in constructing the evaluation index system has certain limitations;in the test survey,the number and scope of samples are small and narrow.Therefore,further in-depth and improvement on the basis of this research can be considered in the future. |
