Presently, the spatial structure of China’s economic development is changing, and central cities, metropolitan areas and urban agglomerations are the main spaces carrying development factors. The future competition will gradually become the competition between “group” and “circles”.The 2022 government work report pointed out that steadily promoting the construction of urban agglomerations and metropolitan areas is a key step to improve the quality of new urbanization.Nanjing Metropolitan Area,an economic belt centered on Nanjing and spanning the two provinces of Jiangsu and Anhui,is the first inter-provincial metropolitan area in China and the pioneer of China’s metropolitan area.In fact, the construction of the metropolitan area is the process of reconfiguring the urban resources in the region. The construction of the Nanjing Metropolitan Area is to break the shackles of administrative regions, make the flow of factors more free and efficient, and market-oriented allocation is increasingly becoming dominant. It is conducive to the realization of new urbanization, improving the quality of development, and providing a sample for the development pattern. In this paper, taking the Nanjing Metropolitan Area as the research object, the population, industry and public resource distribution in the Nanjing Metropolitan Area and its evolution process from 2000 to 2020 are studied in the three dimensions of the overall, prefectural and county levels, and the relevant socio-economic variables in the metropolitan area are analyzed by geospatial measurement method. The study shows that the population distribution of nanjing metropolitan area is uneven, with significant spatial agglomeration characteristics, and the population migration trend to Nanjing is obvious;the northerner the population center of gravity, which is always located in Nanjing. The industrial distribution of the Nanjing metropolitan area is uneven, the distribution of the primary industry is scattered, and the distribution of the secondary and tertiary industries is concentrated, and in general, the economic development level of Nanjing and its eastern cities is higher.Judging from the changes in the entropy of the three major industrial locations, the entropy changes in the primary industry location of most cities show a downward trend, some rise first and then decline, and Changzhou City shows an upward trend;the changes in the location entropy of the secondary industry and the tertiary industry are more complicated, some rise, some decline, and the amplitude is high or low, indicating the differences in the industrial layout of each city. The industrial center of gravity is eastward, always located in Nanjing. In terms of public resources, there is also an imbalance in the distribution of public public resources in the Nanjing metropolitan area, and indicators such as education, medical care are mainly linked to the level of urban economic development,Generally speaking, cities with higher levels of economic development and more population, have better allocation of public resources. This paper further constructs a coupled coordination degree model and evaluates the coordination of population, industry and public resource allocation in nanjing metropolitan area from 2000 to 2020.The study shows that although the comprehensive development level and coupling coordination degree of the Nanjing Metropolitan Area have been rising in the past 20 years, the indicators are still at a low level,The development level of population distribution, industrial distribution and public resource distribution is generally consistent with the comprehensive development level trend of the three, and the coupling coordination degree of the two presents different characteristics. This shows that the planning of the Nanjing Metropolitan Area is at the right time, and it is necessary to further optimize the industrial layout through the construction of the metropolitan area, make the distribution of population, public resources and industries more reasonable, and promote the high-quality development of society. |
