| With the implementation of the“Opinions on Promoting the Educational Tourism of Primary and Secondary School Students” and the new curriculum reform,secondary geography educational tourism(hereinafter referred to as geography educational tourism)has gradually become a hot topic.However,the quality of the implementation of geography educational tourism is not high.The lack of a professional geography educational tourism tutors is of the most important reasons.Therefore,cultivating a group of excellent geography educational tourism tutors has become an important research issue in the development of geography educational tourism.Competency theory is widely used in the recruitment,training,assessment and evaluation of employees in various industries.So it’s time to do the construction and application of the competence index system of geography educational tourism tutor.The geography educational tourism tutors’ competence index system was constructed by literature research and empirical research.The geography teachers were the important source of the geography educational tourism tutors.On the base of the competence index system,a questionnaire was designed.Middle school geography teachers were elected as samples of the investigation.It investigated and analyzed geography teachers’ competency levels as geography educational tourism tutors and the influencing factors of it.Then put forward suggestions on how to improve their competency levels.The main research conclusions obtained are:Firstly,the competencies of geography educational tourism tutors were extracted by literature analysis and functional analysis.On the base of Iceberg Model,the geography educational tourism tutors’ competence index system was initially constructed in five dimensions,which are knowledge,skills,self-concept,personal characteristics and achievement motivation.According to the geography educational tourism tutors’ competence index system,a questionnaire was prepared.After the descriptive statistical analysis,reliability analysis and Validity analysis,the geography educational tourism tutors’ competence index system was eventually constructed.Secondly,according to the geography educational tourism tutors’ competence index system,a questionnaire was prepared.Geography teachers are assessed by the questionnaires.The results of the questionnaire analysis showed that: geography teachers had the potential to competence as geography educational tourism tutors.However,the lack of Knowledge and ability influence the competences of geography educational tourism tutors.Thirdly,did a survey to get the reasons of low competences.The results of the questionnaire analysis showed that: the reasons of this were having no national policy,having no training and no motivation.Finally,the author put forward some suggestions to improve the competences of geography educational tourism tutors.This research constructs the competence index system of geography educational tourism tutor,expands the competency theory research;provides the reference basis for the competent organization to select and train the travel tutor;helps teachers who intend to become or have just become geography educational tourism tutors to identify the direction of improving their competences. |
