The "Geography Curriculum Standards for Ordinary High Schools"(revised in2017 and 2020)clearly states that in order to achieve the foundation of moral education and talent cultivation,the main content must be to enhance students’ core abilities in geography,in order to achieve their ultimate development vision.In the process of geography research travel,we should consider the scientificity and operability of practical activities,and choose a typical practical education base to carry out teaching activities.At the same time,it is necessary to consider the educational conditions and characteristics of students and the area where the school is located,and design activities based on factors such as students,schools,and local conditions.There are not many geography research activities in Zunyi,so this study focuses on implementing the fundamental task of cultivating morality and cultivating people,and integrating research travel into geography teaching.In the travel of geographical research,the purpose of geographical research is to strengthen students’ understanding of the geographical knowledge system,tap the intrinsic value of geographical research,promote students’ practical attention to the harmonious relationship between man and land,and improve students’ basic geographical literacy.This article takes Zunyi as an example to study the actual development of geography research travel in Zunyi,to make up for the shortcomings of research travel and provide theoretical guidance for middle school geography teachers in their research travel.Through a questionnaire survey,this article explores the organization and implementation of research travel activities in Zunyi.From the perspective of geography teaching,effective strategies and design principles are proposed,and based on research cases with natural and humanistic themes,useful references are provided for future high school geography research activities.After in-depth research,we have come to the following conclusion:(1)At present,Zunyi High School Geography Research Travel is facing development opportunities and challenges of lagging implementation.From the students’ performance in the geography classroom,it can be seen that they are very interested in geographical things.Through a questionnaire survey,we found that students are very interested in geography research travel and hope to experience its fun.During the learning process,they are proactive and creative.This provides good conditions for the successful conduct of our geography research travel activities and the teaching of geography teaching content.After investigation,it was found that many schools did not attach importance to research travel activities,resulting in a less optimistic implementation situation.The number of research trips is very small,or even non-existent.In addition,the evaluations from students and teachers are not timely and sufficient,and the connection between geography teaching content and research practice bases is also weak.Finally,the students’ performance did not meet expectations,resulting in insufficient reflection on the research trip.Therefore,these issues urgently need to be addressed,otherwise research travel activities will not be able to fully realize their practical significance.(2)The implementation of high school research travel activities should adhere to principles and strategies consistent with the teaching content.Unlike traditional research travel,which is closely integrated with geography teaching,research travel under the background of the new curriculum reform requires strict rules and regulations.Therefore,the design principles of research travel activities should follow the principles of theme clarity,problem exploration,team assistance,learning autonomy,situational experience,implementation feasibility,and summary feedback;The implementation strategies include excavating the resources of the geography curriculum for research travel,strengthening teacher guidance and organizational capabilities,improving students’ awareness of research education,selecting practical bases for research travel geography,building a cooperation platform between schools,parents,and practical bases,improving the evaluation mechanism for geography research travel learning,and ensuring the smooth implementation of high school geography research activities.(3)By integrating the content of geography courses with the unique charm of the local culture,we can create research-oriented courses with strong themes.These courses can help high school students gain a deeper understanding of the local natural environment,history,and social status,and can effectively cultivate their geographical knowledge.Before planning these courses,we need to fully understand the local customs and traditions,and develop courses that meet these conditions.By regularly collecting and evaluating feedback,and taking into account various factors,we can better evaluate and improve the success of high school geography courses,and provide professional advice and guidance to ensure the smooth promotion and effectiveness of the courses.After investigation,the Education and Sports Bureau of Zunyi has established multiple research and practice bases,covering various topics,including geography research travel.These bases are numerous and rich in content,providing great convenience for the development of geography curriculum resources,making Zunyi a diversified geography research and tourism destination.In order to successfully carry out geography research travel,we must ensure that all links are effectively connected and strengthen the connection between schools,parents,and research practice bases.Before starting this journey,our teachers,the person in charge of the research and practice base,and logistics management personnel must all be fully prepared.In this journey,we must also attach importance to cultivating students’ core geographical literacy.Finally,we must summarize the experience of this journey in a timely manner and be fully prepared for the next trip.
