With the introduction of the Compulsory Education Labor Curriculum Standards(2022Edition),labor education has been listed as an independent curriculum and has its own curriculum standards for the first time,and labor literacy provides a new perspective for the implementation of labor education curriculum.It is against this background that this study,on the basis of combing through a large amount of literature and reading policy texts,selected two elementary school in W city to investigate the current situation of labor education curriculum implementation in elementary school from the perspective of labor literacy,and through quantitative and qualitative analysis,explored the problems and the causes of the problems,and attempted to propose strategies to optimize labor education curriculum implementation in elementary school from the perspective of labor literacy.In order to provide theoretical support for front-line educators to better carry out the labor education curriculum in elementary school and promote the formation of labor literacy among elementary school students.In this study,student questionnaires,teacher questionnaires,and teacher interviews were set up.The student questionnaire used scale questions to investigate elementary school students’ labor concepts,labor ability,labor habits and qualities,labor spirit,and feelings and evaluations of curriculum implementation,while the teacher questionnaire and interviews were designed in terms of curriculum perception,curriculum objectives,curriculum content,curriculum implementation process,and curriculum assurance.The data from 122 teacher questionnaires,241 student questionnaires and 4 teacher interviews were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively by SPSS25.0,and the following five problems were found in the implementation of labor education curriculum in the sample schools: narrowing of labor education curriculum goals,relatively single content of labor education curriculum,formalized curriculum implementation,unsound curriculum evaluation system,and weak curriculum guarantee.The main reasons for this are: firstly,the erosion of bad cultural concepts,secondly,the weakness of teachers,thirdly,the insufficient excavation of curriculum resources,and fourthly,the lack of labor education evaluation mechanism.Based on this,based on the analysis of the problems and causes of labor education curriculum implementation,based on the relationship between labor literacy and labor education and the most recent policy texts,we propose the following optimization strategies.First,we should change the undesirable concepts,strengthen the role model demonstration of teachers and parents,and create a social culture that respects labor;second,we should strengthen teacher training,establish a teacher training system that points to students’ labor literacy,and strengthen training of labor curriculum implementation knowledge;again,to explore curriculum resources,strengthen home-school cooperation,and seek social support;and finally,to improve curriculum evaluation.
