A unified curriculum has been widely employed throughout our country’s lengthy history of basic education. This includes uniform textbooks, teaching outlines, and lesson plans, resul ting in a lack of variation and flexibility in our basic education system. In accordance with the spirit of the "Basic Education Curriculum Reform Outline," the Ministry of Education formulated the "School Curriculum Management Guidelines" in 2002,which clearly pointed out the conditions and importance of school-based curriculum development.School-based curriculum to some extent supplements the content of national and local curricula, while also facilitating the formation of campus cultural characteristics, improving teacher professional quality, and promoting students’ individualized development.Chemistry is an experimental-based discipline, and the requirements for students in chemistry are not only to master the theoretical foundation, but also to cultivate their ability to independently explore experiments.School-based chemistry experiments can not only help students conduct experimental operations but also cultivate students’ core qualities of scientific exploration and innovation consciousness. This article focuses on the development of the high school "Chemical Experiments in Daily Life" school-based curriculum in Nanchuan District,Chongqing.Firstly, the literature analysis method was used to understand the theory of school-based curriculum development at home and abroad, and analyze the current situation of high school chemistry and chemistry experiment school-based curriculum development at home and abroad. Then, the survey questionnaire and interview methods were used to investigate the development and implementation of the high school "Chemical Experiments in Daily Life" school-based curriculum. Finally, the practice method was chosen to develop the high school "Chemical Experiments in Daily Life" school-based curriculum.A part of the students were selected to use the school-based curriculum developed by the author, and the curriculum was evaluated comprehensively from both quantitative and qualitative aspects using the questionnaire survey method, interview method, and performance evaluation method. The research results show that the development of the high school "Chemical Experiments in Daily Life" school-based curriculum fully considers the relationship between school, students, knowledge, and curriculum. The goal setting conforms to the national educational objectives, the content selection is close to students’ daily lives, and the implementation process fully reflects the student-centered approach and diversified evaluation methods, which to some extent meets the students’ needs and enables them to master certain experimental operation abilities and the ability to independently design experiments. After learning the curriculum, most of the students have improved their interest in learning chemistry and enhanced their self-value affirmation. At the same time, the problems encountered in the development of the school-based curriculum are collected and summarized, including lack of understanding of curriculum concepts, uneven development capabilities, heavy disciplinary tasks for students, and inadequate school support.Suggestions are made,including(1)teachers’ need to strengthen theoretical learning and continuously improve their research abilities,(2)schools need to reasonably arrange curriculum time,(3)curriculum development content should be diversified and not limited to the extension of textbook knowledge,(4)and the evaluation methods should be flexible, and it is not recommended to use exam results as the only evaluation method. This research has a certain reference value for the subsequent development and application of high school "Chemical Experiments in Daily Life" school-based curricula.
