An education is a systematic project.Geography teaching in junior high school and geography teaching in senior high school are independent systems, and they form a whole. The knowledge of geography mastered by junior high school students is the basis of senior high school study.Geography knowledge in senior high school is the deepening and application of junior high school knowledge. If the two teaching stages of junior high school and senior high school are not properly connected, the teaching quality will deteriorate, and students will be uninterested in geography learning and tired of learning, which will inevitably affect the teaching quality of subsequent teachers and students’ geography learning. At present, due to the different requirements of junior and senior high school curriculum standards for students’ ability, the lack of continuity in junior and senior high school curriculum, the great difference in the difficulty of junior and senior high school textbooks, and the low status of geography, students’ geography learning in two stages has been out of touch. How to link up geography teaching in junior and senior high schools has attracted more and more teachers’ attention.Doing a good job link up geography teaching in two stages is of great significance to the whole middle school geography teaching, which is conducive to improving the teaching quality of senior high school geography teachers, helping students to pass the transition period smoothly and laying a good foundation for students’ geography learning in senior high school. The author consulted a large number of documents and summarized the current research status of the research field of "The continuity of geography teaching in school",which studied the development status abroad and at home.Based on the theories of cognitive thought, humanistic thought,"zone of proximal development" and "learning transfer theory",this paper summarizes the significance of this research on the basis of previous theoretical research.Based on the theories of constructivism, cognitivism,"zone of proximal development" and "triple theory of intelligence",this paper takes the students of Grade One in No.6 Middle School in Changzhi City and the teachers of junior and senior high schools as the research objects, investigates the current situation of geography teaching in Changzhi City,as well as the problems and their causes, and on this basis, puts forward the strategies of geography teaching in school from the perspectives of students and teachers. This paper draws the following conclusions:(1)Influenced by the curriculum, the differences in the difficulty of geography textbooks between two stages, students’ subjective factors and teachers’ subjective factors, the connection between schools geography teaching is not close enough, and there is a disconnect between junior and senior high school geography teaching;Students can’t adapt well to geography study in senior high school, and their willingness to learn geography is not strong;Teachers’ teaching cohesion lacks proper methods and there are some difficulties; The contents of geography textbooks in junior and senior high schools are not connected to a certain extent.Through research, the author believes that the reasons for the poor connection between two stages geography teaching are as follows:(1)Students: utilitarian learning purpose, low interest in geography learning, single learning style, poor learning habits and low learning efficiency;(2)Teachers: weak sense of teaching cohesion, low professional quality, unfamiliar teaching content, single teaching method,etc.(3)Curriculum: the geography curriculum in schools is discontinuous, the number of class hours is small, and there is a lack of geography experiment classes and geography activity classes.(4)The influence of the edition and content of geography textbooks. On this basis, the following strategies are put forward:(1)From the students’ point of view: cultivate their own interest in geography learning and get rid of achievement-oriented utilitarian learning;Develop good study habits,do a good job in previewing before class and reviewing after class to improve their learning efficiency;Change the way of learning, and use the Internet and other channels to learn geography.(2)From the aspect of teachers, senior high school teachers should enhance the awareness of teaching cohesion and find suitable cohesion content;Improve their professional quality and be familiar with the curriculum standards and teaching materials of other study sections;Change the traditional teaching methods, and use more activities such as geography research and geography field practice to stimulate students’ interest in geography learning.(3)From the aspect of curriculum, schools and other institutions should add geography courses in grade three to ensure the continuity of geography curriculum;Relevant education authorities should appropriately increase the number of geography classes in middle schools;Set up geography activity class and experiment class to enhance the practicality of geography course and enhance students’ interest in geography learning.(4)From the perspective of teaching materials: Try to choose the same version of teaching materials, which is conducive to enhancing the cohesion of junior and senior high school teaching materials;Appropriately increase the content of junior high school textbooks and increase the difficulty of junior high school textbook knowledge to reduce the convergence span of junior high school knowledge points.I hope that through my research,I can help front-line teachers to better carry out geography teaching and help students adapt to geography learning life more quickly.
