Situational teaching method is a pedagogic approach in which teachers purposefully introduce or create vivid and concrete scenes with certain emotional content,mainly images,in order to induce certain attitudinal experiences in the teaching subjects and enable their physical and mental functions to develop.Kindergarten music appreciation activities are an important part of early childhood music education,which is an effective way for children to perceive,express and create musical beauty,as well as an important way to improve their comprehensive musical literacy.It is also an essential path to promote children’s comprehensive music literacy.Situational teaching,with its characteristics of authenticity,emotion and meaning,is an important teaching method to achieve high quality kindergarten music education activities,and its application in kindergarten music appreciation activities meets the needs and rules of children’s physical and mental development.This study focuses on the application of situational teaching method in kindergarten music appreciation activities.Based on the theories of situational teaching and kindergarten music appreciation activities,this project adopts an action research paradigm and follows the research path of "planning-action-reflection-action again",using observation method,interview method,physical analysis and other research methods.Using the observation method,interview method,and physical analysis,the study took kindergarten D class of Chongqing Y as the research object,and understood the current situation of the application of contextual teaching method in the music appreciation activity of class D through preliminary research.Then,to summarize and analyze the specific problems in the application of situational teaching method in the music appreciation activities of this class,based on this,we established a cooperative relationship with two co-teachers of Class D,and jointly designed and implemented three rounds of situational music appreciation activities,"Radetzky March","Four Seasons-Autumn" and "Golden Snake Dance",and carried out timely discussion and improvement according to the problems in each round of activities,and continuously optimized the situational teaching method.The application effect of the teaching method in kindergarten music appreciation activities.Through the implementation of the three rounds of action plans,this study found that the cooperating teachers’ ability to apply the contextual teaching method in music appreciation activities was improved,and at the same time,the relevant theories about contextual teaching were solidified and their music education concepts were constantly updated.In addition,the diverse contexts stimulated children’s creative musical expressions,and the full range of musical contexts could better realize children’s perceptions of music.Finally,the study concluded that:(1)creating an open and relaxed context is the key to enhancing children’s musical creativity;(2)effective setting of space and materials is an excellent channel to optimize the music appreciation context;(3)the whole context is an effective vehicle for children to gain a complete emotional experience of music;(4)expanding the context is a necessary part of children’s emotional understanding of music works.Summing up the process and conclusions of the above action research,this study proposes the development of kindergarten music appreciation activities based on the situational teaching method.First,at the kindergarten level,we should make full use of the material and human resources for music teaching and carry out context-based music education research.Second,at the teacher level,teachers should select appropriate music works to stimulate children’s interest in music appreciation;provide sufficient opportunities to encourage children to listen and express themselves in the context;use diversified contexts throughout the process of music appreciation activities;integrate available resources to optimize the contextual settings in music appreciation activities;and pay attention to the expansion of contexts to enhance children’s emotional experience in music appreciation activities.The use of diverse contexts throughout the process of music appreciation activities;the integration of available resources to optimize the setting of contexts in music appreciation activities;the emphasis on the expansion of contexts to enhance children’s emotional experience in music appreciation activities.
