The Physical Education and Health Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2020 Edition)[hereinafter referred to as "Curriculum Standards(2020Edition)" ] aims at developing physical fitness, forming a healthy lifestyle, cultivating an interest in sports, fostering sportsmanship and fostering all-round development, with the curriculum philosophy emphasising the core qualities of physical education, which are divided into three aspects: motor ability, healthy behaviour and physical morality.Under the new teaching objectives and philosophy,it is necessary to "teach, practice and compete" and to focus on the reform and innovation of the curriculum content. At present, frontline volleyball teachers have some problems in teaching, including too much emphasis on single techniques in teaching content, inflexible teaching methods, and difficulty in paying attention to individual students’ differences in the teaching process. Therefore,in order to better implement the new curriculum, establish a more effective teaching model and make the teaching design of high school volleyball modules more reasonable, this paper advocates the use of "combined techniques" instead of "single techniques" in the teaching design. This paper advocates the use of "combination techniques" instead of "single techniques",and "learning and practising" instead of "learning and practising".The three volleyball modules of the general high school are used as the research object, and 60 students of the senior volleyball option of Fuzhou No.3 Middle School are used as the experimental subjects(30 students in the experimental class are taught the "Combination Technique" and "Learn-Practice Match" modules designed in this paper, while 30 students in the control class are taught the "Combination Technique" and "Learn-Practice Match" modules designed in this paper. In the control class,30 students were taught the original "single technique" and "learning and practicing" teaching mode, and both classes were taught by the author in the same proportion of male and female students for a period of 18 weeks. The research methods of literature, expert interviews, questionnaires, experimental methods, mathematical statistics, etc.were used to explore the contents and methods of teaching volleyball modules(independent variables)suitable for general high school students’ physiological, psychological and behavioural motivation and volleyball level, and to implement them in volleyball teaching practice, record and write up the implementation process, using the core qualities of motor ability, physical morality and health behaviour as the evaluation basis(dependent variables)(see Table 14 of this paper for evaluation indicators and criteria).Experimental teaching was carried out to verify the teaching implementation effects and finally the following conclusions were drawn.(1)The literature method combined with expert interviews yielded the following elements related to the teaching design of high school volleyball classes for the new curriculum: implementing the fundamental task of establishing moral education and the teaching philosophy of health first, developing reasonable teaching content based on the physical and mental development characteristics and interest in volleyball of high school students, using teaching methods such as explanation and demonstration, demonstration and evaluation methods combined with multimedia and mind mapping tools as teaching strategies, and using a variety of teaching evaluations combined with curriculum evaluation.(2)Documentary method combined with expert interviews to obtain the teaching design of volleyball modules for senior classes under the new curriculum: Module 1:Basic Technique Module(including the origin and development of basic volleyball;rules of volleyball, preparatory postures for volleyball, basic hand shapes, hitting parts and hitting points for frontal two-handed pads and passes;side hand serve;pass-pad combination exercises;teaching games).Module 2: Consolidation of Basic Techniques(including parallel and crossover steps for mobile footwork;frontal two-handed pads and passes;preparatory posture and upstep for frontal bending and buckling;side and frontal underhand serves;swinging arm movements, hitting points and hitting areas for frontal overhand serves;passing and buckling combination exercises;volleyball attack and defensive tactics;teaching games).Module 3: Improving Technique Module(including basic principles and values of volleyball techniques and tactics;handling of sports injuries;striding and running use of passing pads;frontal and side underhand serves;frontal overhand serves;frontal bending and dunking;passing and dunking combination exercises;volleyball attack and defensive tactics;rules of the game;teaching competition).(3)Teaching practice and effectiveness of volleyball lessons based on the new curriculum(2020)(1)The results of the questionnaire show that the school has a wide range of court equipment;more than 90% of the subjects(60)have some volleyball foundation;100%of the subjects(60)are willing to learn volleyball;this data provides strong support for the effective implementation of the three modules designed in this paper.(2)The t-test before and after the experiment showed that there was no significant difference between the mean and standard deviation of the three aspects of physical education core literacy in the experimental group and the control group before the experiment(p﹥0.05);after the experiment, there was a significant difference between the mean and standard deviation of the three aspects of physical education core literacy in the experimental group. There was a significant difference in the mean and standard deviation of the test scores of the experimental group in the three areas of motor ability, physical fitness and health behaviour(P>0.05).The mean of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group, especially the mean and standard deviation of motor ability and physical fitness. Conclusion: The modular teaching design using the "Combined Technique" and "Learn,Practice,Play" teaching modes of this study is more effective in teaching the general high school volleyball course, which is conducive to teachers’ teaching and students’ learning, and can significantly improve the teaching effect.
