Background: From a physiological point of view, children are in the sensitive period of coordination and flexibility development, and the targeted practice of coordination and flexibility for children in this period can greatly improve their physical health and achieve twice the result with half the effort. The characteristics of the popular aerobics program match the needs of developing children’s coordination and flexibility in this period.Specifically, popular aerobics is a sport that integrates fitness, entertainment and spectacle according to different age levels, gender, psychological and physical characteristics, with light-hearted music, and combines children’s physical exercise needs and motivates children to exercise through easy-to-learn gymnastic movements,so as to achieve the goal of promoting children’s coordination and flexibility development.Purpose of the study: The purpose of this paper is to study the effects of mass aerobics at the juvenile level on the development of coordination and flexibility qualities in children aged 7-8 years old,in order to provide a solid theoretical basis for the popularization of mass aerobics programs in children’s stage,as well as to provide a reference for the assessment of children’s coordination and flexibility qualities, and to provide a basis for promoting the development of children’s coordination and flexibility qualities.Research Subjects and Methods:This study used literature method, experimental method, mathematical and statistical method, and logical analysis method. The experimental method used the principle of convenient random sampling, and children aged 7-8 years old in Liangjiang Primary School in Beibei District,Chongqing were randomly divided into control group Ⅰ(n=43),control group Ⅱ(n=43)and experimental group(n=43).The control group Ⅰ was taught the regular physical education curriculum, the control group Ⅱ was trained by the school team, and the experimental group was exercised in the juvenile level 1 mass aerobics for 12 weeks, with 3 class periods per week and the length of each class period was 40 minutes. The KTK physical coordination and flexibility test tool was used to test the children in the three groups before and after the experiment to understand the overall development of physical coordination and flexibility qualities of the children in the experimental group, control groupⅠ and control groupⅡ,and to conduct comparative analysis of the data before and after the experiment.Results:(1)After 12 weeks, the coordination and flexibility qualities of children in the experimental group, control group Ⅰ and control group Ⅱ improved.(2)The coordination and flexibility qualities of children in control group I improved slightly, but the improvement effect was lower than that of control group II and experimental group.(3)The coordination quality of children in control group II was developed and improved more significantly, but the improvement and development of flexibility quality was not significant.(4)In the experimental group, both coordination and flexibility qualities were improved, and the experimental effects were significant. The overall experimental effect was: experimental group > control group II > control group I.Conclusion:(1)The effect of mass aerobics exercise to improve the coordination quality of children is significant.(2)The effect of mass aerobics exercise on improving children’s flexibility was significant.(3)There are differences in the effect of mass aerobics exercise on the improvement of coordination and flexibility of children of different genders.
