Image historical data is the most common auxiliary tool in history teaching.Due to the comprehensive nature of history and the strong "past" character,written historical materials are hardly able to bridge the gap between students and history.The richness of images in the Unified Edition Chinese history textbooks for junior high schools,the intuitiveness of images,the publication of the History Curriculum Standards for compulsory education in 2022,and the proposal of five core qualities have all contributed to the widespread use of images and historical materials in daily instruction and exam-oriented education exams.Despite this,there are still many difficulties with the majority of teachers using historical images in textbooks.Therefore,on the basis of previous studies,combined with teaching experience,this paper adopts different methods to discuss how to apply the image historical materials of Chinese history as an example of unified history teaching as a means of changing the current rigid classroom structure.From three perspectives: layout,nature and content,this paper first classifies the image historical material of Chinese history in the unified edition of junior high school textbooks.Secondly,from six perspectives,it analyzes the role of imagining historical materials in history instruction: stimulating students’ interest,fostering students’ historical thinking abilities,boosting students’ all-round development,large unit teaching and interdisciplinary teaching,updating exam-oriented education and examination methods.Last but not least,by discovering subjective and objective problems with the use of historical images as teaching materials,the corresponding solutions are proposed from different perspectives,and from the actual cases,the analysis of the use of historical image materials of Chinese history in the unified edition of junior high school textbooks compiled by the department in the pre-class,in-class,after-class review,and general review of the junior high school examination.
