Educational inspection is an important link in the quality assurance of modern education system,and it is a necessary process and activity for educational development,the essence of which is to identify and guide all related behaviors of educational activities to achieve the purpose of promoting the improvement and improvement of educational quality.Although the research on education inspection is no longer a new field,countries have explored and formed their own inspection models,and escorted their own education quality through education inspection,but how to solve the emerging problems of education inspection and maximize the role of education inspection is still a long way to go,especially in the field of continuing education.Due to its objective particularities,such as student composition,teaching content,curriculum arrangement,learning place,teaching form and time arrangement,etc.,continuing education also puts forward different requirements for education inspection than other fields of education.This paper selects the United Kingdom,which has developed earlier and more perfect continuing education as the research object,and the United Kingdom is one of the earliest countries in the world to develop continuing education,and the British Industrial Revolution provides soil for the emergence of continuing education.In the 30 s of the 19 th century,continuing education sprouted,and by the beginning of the 20 th century it developed rapidly,and legal guarantees were established.So far,continuing education with its own characteristics in the UK has become a typical representative of this field.This paper analyzes the whole process of inspection covering the inspection standards of continuing education in the UK,various inspection activities,the content and effect of feedback,etc.,and explores the characteristics of continuing education inspection and how to ensure the quality of continuing education through education inspection,so as to draw on its rationality and provide reference for China’s continuing education inspection to overcome shortcomings and optimize functions.UK further education provides young people,adults and employers with high-quality technical and professional education and training,making an outstanding contribution to the UK’s economic growth,continued skills development and young people’s skills learning and employment.In the fiercely competitive global market,high-quality labor is an important guarantee for improving national competitiveness and achieving economic prosperity.Building an effective and skilled workforce capable of competing in the global market is also a goal for the UK government.The New Labour government embarked on a series of reforms after coming to power,including a radical overhaul of post-compulsory education,with the aim of making the sector more effective and thus achieving the goal of creating a more productive workforce.One of the many reforms was the introduction of a system of checks to bring education into the purview of Ofsted.This paper uses the historical research method,the literature research method and the case study method,selects the Education Standards Bureau,the British education inspection agency,as the research object,and explores how the British Education Standards Agency ensures the quality of continuing education through education inspection on the basis of reading and analyzing a large number of Chinese and foreign literature.First of all,the British National Continuing Education inspection Standard,that is,the standards of the Education Standards Bureau,are sorted out and analyzed,and it is clarified that the standards are composed of five levels of overall effectiveness,education quality,behavior and attitude,personal development,leadership effectiveness and many sub-standards,and through the investigation of teaching and learning,management,safety,equality and many other contents,the five first-level indicators are judged at four levels,in this three-dimensional and multi-dimensional standard framework,the characteristics and essence of the development,humanism,and effectiveness of British education inspection are conveyed.Targeted reference for the formulation of national standards.This is a targeted guarantee provided by the education inspectorate for the quality of continuing education.Secondly,the role of continuing education inspection and guarantee should be reflected in various activities under inspection.From inspection preparation to various on-site inspection activities to feedback after inspection,each link is increasing the quality of continuing education,and the scientific and democratic nature of the inspection and implementation process makes the power of continuing education inspection fully exert.In this part,in order to prove the effect of education inspection,the inspection feedback report of Abingdon Witney College,a further education college,is selected as evidence to further clarify the successful experience of continuing education inspection,in which the role of leadership and management is the more important aspect of continuing education in the UK.Finally,on the basis of the analysis of the above series of inspection safeguards and inspection activities,the characteristics of the inspection of the Education Standards Bureau in the field of continuing education are summarized,and independence,professionalism,service,motivation and feedback are the characteristics of continuing education inspection,but this paper believes that there are two more important characteristics,namely,the continuity of inspection influence and the human nature of inspection essence.Supervisory feedback forms an "automatic" inspection effect with the blessing of continuity;Education inspection takes the development of "people" as its original intention and becomes a reliable guarantee for the quality of continuing education.In addition,the advantages and disadvantages of continuing education inspection are slightly analyzed,and humble opinions are put forward on the direction of improvement.The Education Standards Board’s inspection of continuing education should pay more attention to the relationship between schools and supervisors,should pay attention to the opinions and preferences of parents,and should regulate and make good use of school self-assessment.
