| The spatial representations of geographic objects and phenomena on the Earth’s surface have numerous and varied.It is the top priority to think about how to methodically cognize the spatial representations of geographic objects and phenomena to understand the world.Therefore,cultivating the geospatial order cognitive ability of high school students can help the students to sort out the numerous and varied spatial information in their minds and enhance their ability to solve geographical problems,thereby forging a solid basis for cultivating students’ core competence of geography discipline.However,constrained by various factors,the cultivation of the geospatial order cognitive ability do not obtain to value enough.As a result,it have great significance in practice to study how to better cultivate the geospatial order cognitive ability of high school students.Under this background,the present thesis adopted literature analysis,questionnaire method and data analysis approach including other methods to conduct the research.First of all,the spatial system theory(as the philosophical basis of modern geography),and Cognitive Scaffolding were applied to discuss and analyze the definition of the geospatial order cognitive ability,and the constituting factors of the geospatial order cognitive ability.Secondly,the manifestations of the geospatial order cognitive ability in “High School Geography Curriculum Standards” and the manifestations by relevant knowledge in the textbook “Geography Compulsory I(PEP edition)” and the textbook “Geography Compulsory II(PEP edition)” were investigated.Thirdly,on the basis of investigating the actual situation of the geospatial order cognitive ability cultivation among high school students,this research developed systematic strategies for cultivating the geographic location cognitive ability,geospatial pattern cognitive ability and geographic process cognitive ability,so that senior high school students could preliminarily recognize geospatial order and cognize the geographical meaning of geospatial order.Lastly,“The Cosmic Environment of the Earth”,“Common Landform: Karst” and“Population Migration” were selected to design teaching cases,to apply the cultivation strategies of the geospatial order cognitive ability in teaching practice.The main conclusions could be drawn as follows:(1)An index system of the geospatial order cognitive ability was built.On the basis of reading relevant research works to define the geospatial order cognitive ability as students’ ability to discover and understand spatial order from the chaotic spatial manifestations of objective geographical things or phenomena,this paper constructed a geospatial order cognitive ability index system composed of three primary indexes and ten secondary indexes.(2)The current situation of the geospatial order cognitive ability cultivation among senior high school students was investigated.According to the results of student questionnaire surveys and teacher interview surveys,the following problems existed in the current ability cultivation.Only about 50% of students could correctly establish geospatial order;students varied in their ability of grasping each constituting factor of the geospatial order cognitive ability;students did not receive sufficient training;high school geography teachers did not reserve sufficient professional knowledge.All these problems constituted major factors restricting the geospatial order cognitive ability cultivation among high school students.(3)Systematic strategies for cultivating the geospatial order cognitive ability were developed.In view of the problems revealed by the survey results and the root causes of the problems,the strategies were given from three dimensions,to cultivate students to preliminarily recognize geospatial order and cognize the geographical meaning of geospatial order.Firstly,students should be cultivated to accurately recognize the geographic location order and cognize the geographical meaning of geographic location order,to develop a cognitive ability of geographic location order.Secondly,students should be cultivated to correctly describe the spatial pattern order and cognize the geographical meaning of the geospatial pattern order,to develop a cognitive ability of geospatial pattern order.Thirdly,students should be cultivated to correctly summarize the geographical process order,analyze the reasons for the occurrence of geographic processes and scientifically predict the development trend of the geographical process,thus developing a cognitive ability of geographic process order. |
