Teachers are the foundation of education,and teachers’ morality is the foundation of teachers.Primary and secondary school teachers are the key to promoting the reform of basic education and helping students to grow and become successful.They are responsible for spreading knowledge,ideas and truth,shaping souls,lives and new people of the times.Good professional ethical quality of teachers is an important foundation for students’ growth and a value measure to promote the progress of education.China has a large team of basic education teachers,and the key to whether the teaching team can truly contribute to the progress and development of China’s education as a whole lies in the construction of teachers’ professional ethics.Excellent primary and secondary school teachers are developed under the strict requirements of themselves and the strict supervision of the external environment,among which the excellent professional ethics of teachers is a necessary element for the development of excellent primary and secondary school teachers,so it is important to investigate the characteristics of excellent primary and secondary school teachers’ professional ethics in depth for the cultivation of professional ethics of primary and secondary school teachers in China.This research takes 20 excellent primary and secondary school teachers as the research objects,mainly adopts grounded theory,literature method,interview method,observation method,and uses the analysis software Nvivo12 Plus version to analyze the transcribed interview texts,collected policy texts,and observation records in order to explore the elements of excellent primary and secondary school teachers’ professional ethics characteristics and provide more practical guidance for the cultivation of professional ethics of front-line ordinary primary and secondary school teachers.In the specific operation,through open coding,spindle coding,selective coding and theoretical saturation test,32 initial concepts and 12 conceptual categories were summarized based on the materials and developed into 4 main categories,and the structural diagram of the elements of the professional ethical characteristics of excellent primary and secondary school teachers was constructed by sorting out the relationship between each category and discovering the connection between them.the4 main dimensions were noble teachers’ professional ethical beliefs,advanced teachers’ professional ethical concepts,excellent teachers’ professional ethical abilities and good teachers’ professional ethical behaviors.Among them,noble teachers’ professional ethical beliefs are mainly reflected in the ideal of educational career,professional moral will and moral responsibility consciousness;advanced teachers’ professional ethical concepts mainly include moral knowledge concept,moral education concept and moral development concept;excellent teachers’ professional ethical ability is mainly reflected in three aspects of moral understanding,moral reflective power and moral influence;finally,good teachers’ professional moral behavior mainly includes teachers’ own moral behavior,moral teaching practice and moral interpersonal communication.Finally,the structural elements of excellent primary and secondary school teachers’ professional ethics characteristics are formed,which are guided by teachers’ professional ethics ideals and beliefs,centered on teachers’ professional ethics concept reserve,guaranteed by teachers’ professional ethics ability and targeted by good professional ethics actions.The study found that although the professional ethics behavior and performance of excellent primary and secondary school teachers are not the same,they have shown a positive side for some social constraints,school discipline and strict requirements.Based on relevant materials,this paper discusses the characteristics of primary and secondary school teachers’ professional ethics from different perspectives such as connotation interpretation and text analysis.Finally,based on the results of qualitative research,this study puts forward the enlightenment of the construction of professional ethics of primary and secondary school teachers,in order to promote the development of professional ethics of primary and secondary school teachers in China and enrich the research on the construction of professional ethics of primary and secondary school teachers. |
