Since the emergence of human society,people’s pursuit of truth,goodness and beauty has never stopped.As socialism with Chinese characteristics enters a new era,people’s yearning for and pursuit of a better life is more urgent.Aesthetic education plays a vital role in improving people’s comprehensive quality and promoting people’s all-round development.As the main force of socialist construction,college students are the backbone of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and the main body of value education.Strengthening the construction of aesthetic education courses in colleges and universities is an important way to promote and improve the value education of college students.In recent years,the Party and the government of our country have attached great importance to the aesthetic education work in colleges and universities.In 2019,the Ministry of Education issued the Opinions on Practically Strengthening the Aesthetic Education Work in Colleges and Universities in the New Era,stressing that the aesthetic education work in colleges and universities in the new era should carry out reform and innovation with the times,and adhere to the adaptation of the aesthetic education work in colleges and universities to the requirements of educational reform and development.Internationally,the construction of aesthetic education curriculum in American universities started early,and it has rich practical experience in carrying out value education through aesthetic education curriculum,which can provide inspiration for the value education in aesthetic education curriculum in Chinese universities.This study follows the position,viewpoint and method of Marxism,attempts to summarize the core content,practical path and main problems of value education in American university aesthetic education curriculum,and dialectically examines its practical experience of value education in university aesthetic education curriculum,with a view to providing some enlightenment and reference for value education in China’s university aesthetic education curriculum.Based on the above research ideas,the specific contents of this study are as follows:The first chapter combs and summarizes the relevant concepts and connotations of value education in American university aesthetic education curriculum and the logical relationship between them.First,clarify the basic connotation of the concepts related to American values education and American university aesthetic education curriculum,and clarify the research boundary of this article.The second is to explore the logical relationship between aesthetic education curriculum and value education in American universities and lay a foundation for the follow-up research.The second chapter mainly focuses on the target system and core content of value education in American university aesthetic education curriculum.From the perspective of curriculum standards issued by the government,aesthetic education projects initiated by scholars in guild organizations,and representative universities’ three-dimensional integration,this paper systematically analyzes the goal system of value education in American university aesthetic education curriculum.Based on a comprehensive analysis of value education in American university aesthetic education courses,combined with curriculum standards,laws,etc.issued by the US government,and based on foreign scholars’ understanding of the content of American value education,The core content of values education in the aesthetic education curriculum of American universities can be summarized into four aspects: "enhancing aesthetic literacy and aesthetic ability,cultivating critical thinking and creativity,improving national identity and social participation,and establishing a global vision and cultural identity".The third chapter mainly focuses on the implementation path of value education in American university aesthetic education curriculum,exploring the internal laws of the implementation path of value education in American university aesthetic education curriculum.American university aesthetic education mainly carries out value education through classroom teaching courses and extracurricular practical courses.In the classroom,aesthetic education is mainly integrated into general and professional courses,highlighting the value guidance of aesthetic education;In the extracurricular practical courses of aesthetic education,the cultivation effect of aesthetic values is mainly improved through four aspects:conducting art seminars,visiting important cities in various countries,strengthening interaction with communities,and conducting various artistic activities.The fourth chapter is a dialectical review of value education in American college aesthetic education curriculum.First,based on the full text of the experience of value education in the American university aesthetic education curriculum,the American university aesthetic education curriculum teaching process attaches great importance to the student-centered small-class teaching model,through the cross-border integration of various aesthetic education disciplines,enrich the methods of value education,at the same time,let students actively participate in the community’s artistic and cultural activities,and broaden the educational channels of aesthetic education curriculum.The second is to analyze and summarize the unscientific,unreasonable,unclear and imperfect problems and challenges of value education in American university aesthetic education curriculum in terms of educational content,teaching methods and educational effects based on the full text,and make attribution analysis from the perspective of its political system,history and culture.Third,based on the analysis of the practical path of value education in the American university aesthetic education curriculum,this paper puts forward practical and useful experience in five aspects:setting up a multi-dimensional aesthetic education curriculum system,carrying out small class teaching,applying the inquiry aesthetic education teaching method,carrying out social practice activities and giving full play to the local advantages of aesthetic education.
