| Since the 18 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,the Party and the state have continuously emphasized the integration of ideological and political education into the entire process of teaching various subjects.With the new round of curriculum reform,the concept of ideological and political education has become an important method for various subjects to implement the goal of cultivating moral character,achieving comprehensive education,and shaping well-rounded individuals.The National Curriculum Standards for Senior High School Geography issued in 2018 reflects the unique value of geography education in the four core competencies of human-geography coordination,integrated thinking,regional awareness,and geographic practice.Geography is a subject that combines natural environment and human society,and contains abundant content for ideological and political education.However,how to implement the concept of ideological and political education in the classes of geography and achieve good teaching effects is still in the exploration stage.Therefore,this article aims to explore the current status of ideological and political education in high school geography curriculum through literature reading and interview surveys,and provide strategic suggestions and practical teaching cases for implementing ideological and political education in geography curriculum.The research is divided into the following four parts:(1)Through literature reading of the existing research results on ideological and political education,especially the practical research on ideological and political education in high school geography curriculum,the overall research process of ideological and political education and relevant concepts,theories and theoretical foundations are sorted out.Based on individual internship experience,the interview outline is preliminarily determined,and teacher interviews are conducted.Based on the results of the interviews and literature analysis,questionnaires for high school geography teachers and students are designed respectively to investigate the current status of ideological and political education in high school geography curriculum.(2)A questionnaire survey is conducted to understand the implementation status of ideological and political education and the basic ideological and political level of high school students and teachers who use the new textbook of Sino Maps Press Edition in some schools in Jiangxi Province.The collected data is sorted and analyzed using SPSS and Excel software.The investigation found that there are three problems with the implementation of ideological and political education in high school geography curriculum: low popularity and importance of the concept of ideological and political education,and high difficulty in implementing ideological and political education in geography teaching.(3)Based on the relevant problems and teacher suggestions,specific teaching implementation strategies are proposed from three aspects: teaching preparation,teaching implementation,and teaching evaluation.(4)Guided by the implementation strategy of ideological and political education,combined with the actual teaching situation,taking the population in Chapter 1 of the Compulsory Textbook Ⅱ of Sino Maps Press Edition as an example,teaching practice is carried out,and test questions are compiled to conduct teaching achievement tests and data verification.The test data shows that the teaching achievements of all experimental classes are better than those of the control classes.Therefore,it is judged that the teaching strategy proposed is beneficial to the cultivation of students’ quality.In summary,integrating ideological and political education into high school geography teaching is beneficial to the improvement of students’ comprehensive quality and the cultivation of core competencies in geography.It can fully play the role of ideological and political education in the education of geography,promote the realization of the goal of cultivating moral character,and the implementation of the concept of education.This research will definitely become one of the focuses of attention for education and teaching practice and researchers in the future. |
