In the context of the new round of education reform,school-based curriculum development is gradually gaining attention in the curriculum reform.In the General Senior Secondary Biology Curriculum Standards(2017 Edition),the issue of how to select and implement school-based curriculum is elaborated,including the module of "Study of Flora and Fauna with Local Characteristics".The introduction of a school-based course on "Study of Local Flora and Fauna" is of great significance to the development of students’ core biological literacy and their awareness of the harmonious coexistence between humans and nature.Local characteristic plant resources are an important part of the local biology curriculum resources.To clarify the role of local biology curriculum resources,the principles of development and utilization,and the ways and measures to lay the theoretical foundation for school-based curriculum development.Based on Skilbeck’s "environmental model",the author has developed a model for developing a school-based curriculum for senior secondary biology based on local biology curriculum resources.The curriculum aims are set by analysing local biology resources and the needs of students,and the content is selected and organised,and appropriate teaching methods are used to implement the curriculum.In addition,the curriculum is revised in the course of implementation,taking into account the learning of students and the teaching of teachers.In this paper,we use "The Wild Vegetables Around Us" as an example,and use the experimental research method,literature analysis,questionnaire and interview method to develop and implement a biology school-based curriculum.The evaluation of the implementation of the school-based curriculum shows that students have learned about local special plant resources,improved their practical skills and increased their sense of inquiry through the school-based curriculum.The school-based course "Wild Vegetables Around Us" has achieved its objectives and has been outstandingly effective in teaching and learning,and has contributed to the development of the school’s characteristics.The following conclusions were drawn: "Using local biological resources" to develop a school-based curriculum for senior secondary biology is conducive to the application of students’ biological knowledge in real-life situations.Making full use of local biology curriculum resources helps to build a distinctive school-based curriculum.
