Curricular reform based on curriculum standards has long been an important educational concern in many countries across the world.Since the introduction of the Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education in Mathematics,scholars striving to enhance educational quality have turned their attention back to the issue of consistency in instruction,curriculum,and evaluation(2022 Edition).The assessment strategy based on curriculum standards is without a doubt the most applicable,effective,and objective way to determine whether pupils have met the academic criteria for junior high school under the current Chinese examination system.The alignment of Guangdong provincial Chinese examination issues with curriculum standards must be looked into in order to promote the reform of the mathematics curriculum.In this study,the Achieve consistency analysis approach was utilized to examine the consistency of a total of nine test questions in the Guangdong secondary school mathematics examinations from 2020 to 2022 in Guangdong,Guangzhou,and Shenzhen papers with the Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education in Mathematics(2022).First,through researching consistency based on curriculum standards both at home and overseas,we gained an understanding of the state of the art in consistency analysis research and contrasted the Webb,SEC,and Achieve consistency models’ analyses."The advantages and limitations of the Webb model,the SEC model,and the Achieve consistency analysis model,combined with the subject characteristics and ability requirements of mathematics,and referred to the fundamental principles of the Achieve consistency analysis model to construct a consistency analysis tool for the consistency analysis of math test questions and curriculum standards.Second,the cognitive demands in the curriculum standards were categorized and defined,and the curriculum standards were coded with the nine sets of Chinese mathematics exam questions in accordance with the analysis framework above;third,the consistency between the curriculum standards and the test questions was again assessed through various dimensions of the Achieve consistency analysis model;and finally,based on the consistency analysis of the curriculum standards,the curriculum standards were revised.The following conclusions were drawn from the consistency analysis of three sets of mathematics test questions from different regions of Guangdong Province from2020 to 2022: among the nine test questions in Guangdong’s Chinese examination in mathematics,the two indicators of content centrality and challenge source were highly consistent with the curriculum standards,and the four indicators of cognitive centrality,challenge level,balance,and range were not as well consistent with the curriculum standards,but there was an increasing trend year by year;the challenge level of Guangzhou paper and The challenge level of the Guangzhou and Shenzhen papers is high,and there is a more obvious differentiation,indicating that the regional economic level and education level have some influence on the test design.In response to the above findings,several suggestions were made: the new requirements of the curriculum standards should be deepened and implemented in daily teaching,and the corresponding cognitive levels of the knowledge content of the curriculum standards should be clarified and used as a guiding document for daily teaching;the preparation of mathematics test questions in the Chinese examination should grasp the new direction of the curriculum standards and improve the quality of mathematics test questions in the Chinese examination around the world in terms of both difficulty and content coverage;every educator should pay attention to the development of students’ Every educator should pay attention to the development of students’ core literacy in mathematics,fully implement the consistency of teaching and evaluation,and truly let the curriculum standards guide teaching and learning,not just focus on the trend of examinations.The innovation of this study: this paper selects the mathematics test questions of Guangdong secondary school examinations from 2020 to 2022 as the research object to conduct consistency analysis with the curriculum standards,in the process,not only can we see the focus of the nine sets of test questions,regional differences,changes in trends and the degree of consistency with the curriculum standards,the selection of the test questions of the last three years to carry out research are also more current;among the literature that conducts consistency analysis based on curriculum standards,Achieve consistency analysis is the most important one.In theliterature,the Achieve consistency analysis model has many dimensions,a cumbersome operation process,and clear quantitative indicators,so there is very little literature on the use of the Achieve consistency analysis model in mathematics,and conducting this study can enrich and supplement the development and empirical application of the consistency tool between students’ curriculum assessment and curriculum standards.
