| In China,ordinary high schools in border ethnic areas,as an important component of national education,undertake important tasks such as talent cultivation,cultural inheritance,economic development,social progress,and ethnic unity.Due to various historical and practical reasons,although ordinary high schools in counties in Yunnan’s border ethnic areas have achieved many results in the process of running schools,there are still many difficulties and problems.Ordinary high school education in border ethnic areas should not only overcome the adverse effects brought about by the particularity of the border and ethnic groups,but also face problems such as the loss of high-quality students,difficulties in talent introduction,and poor teaching quality caused by low economic development level,backward education and teaching foundation,low management level,and difficulties in the development of county-level ordinary high schools in social development.Therefore,it is necessary to study the problems and difficulties in the development of ordinary high school education in border ethnic areas and actively seek solutions.The author attempts to conduct research on a county-level ordinary high school in the ethnic minority areas of Yunnan,and intends to consider and discuss the following questions: What is the current situation of running ordinary high schools in the ethnic minority areas of Yunnan? What difficulties and challenges do we face,and what advantages and opportunities do we have? What are the factors that affect the development of ordinary high school education in Yunnan’s border ethnic areas? How to utilize advantages and opportunities to improve the quality of education?This study is based on the theoretical system of socialist education with Chinese characteristics in the new era,guided by the theories of educational equity,balanced development of education,and multicultural education,to explore the issue of improving the quality of regular high schools in border ethnic areas.Respond to the research theme from the perspectives of educational fairness,rational utilization of educational resources,respect and exploration of ethnic minority culture.This study mainly adopted text analysis,case analysis,questionnaire survey,interview,and observation methods to summarize,organize,analyze,and research the collected data.Research has found that education policies,socio-economic development levels,local financial conditions,educational foundations,ethnic minority particularities,historical geography and culture,educational conditions,student quality,teaching staff,parental awareness,management level,etc.are not only factors that affect the development of education quality in Y County,but also important factors that constrain the improvement of M Middle School’s educational quality.Therefore,the article mainly focuses on Y County as a case study to explore ways to improve the quality of regular high schools in ethnic minority areas of Yunnan,based on the understanding of the current situation,analysis of problems,and identification of reasons.Based on various factors that restrict the development of the school,the article explores solutions to these problems.This study intends to use the "SWOT" analysis method to clarify the advantages and opportunities of Y County and M Middle School in the process of developing education and improving the quality of education.It is also necessary to analyze their disadvantages and challenges,and to think about strategies to improve the quality of M Middle School in Y County through the thinking of leveraging advantages,seizing opportunities,reforming disadvantages,and overcoming challenges.It is also an important basis for exploring ways to improve the quality of ordinary high schools in Yunnan’s border ethnic areas. |
